Beautiful chess set. Very elegant and classy looking. Small enough to be portable, but pieces are nice size and have some weight to them. The squares are a little bit hard to see in the light, so we put something dark underneath it, for better contrast. Nothing too bothersome, we love it!

My husband and I love to play chess, and this set is so elegant that we keep it out everyday on the coffee table. It's small and delicate. Very formal and fits with modern, contemporary or traditional furniture. We have a modern furniture style with a lot of glass. I need to upload a picture, but I'm upstairs and it's 6 am lol, I'm tired (we have a new baby). This is such a pretty chess set. A couple of pieces were cracked but nothing serious. Good buy.

For only being $17, this was worth the price. I'm not a huge chess player, but wanted a chess board to go in my living room that l found aesthetically pleasing. When you look up close, there are lots of weird bubbles, and some chips, so I feel like the packaging could have been better and quality could have been better for the pieces. They are also made of plastic and you have to add your own felt stickers on the bottom of each piece to prevent scratching. I wish they were already glued on. The chess board itself is spectacular! not the slightest scratch! (any scratch you see in the photo is actually my coffee table, not the chess board. Lastly, it does not come with a portable case, so I was a bit bummed about that. Overall I'm happy for what I paid for. If it were more than $25 though, I would expect better quality.

It's smaller than I imagined it would be, but it's still a nice size. The glasswork isn't perfect, the bottoms of the pieces having some amateurish rough bumps on the bottoms. The felt pads included with the set are paper-thin and do nothing to even out the uneven bottoms of the pieces, although they do protect the glass board (you will have to take 10 minutes to attach the pieces yourself). Still, it is functional, and I'm surprised at how the felt bottoms held up for feeling like nothing more than cheap fuzzy tape. Besides those blemishes, the set is beautiful; the board is flawless and the pieces look great and are nice to hold, as long as you're not touching the bottom. The felt bottoms also don't ruin the look of the board at all, something I was originally concerned about. You can barely see them when attached to the pieces.I would recommend this one simply from naivety, but I'd personally like to buy a few other sets before I really gauged this one. As a first time set, it gets the job done just fine, I certainly don't regret buying it. I originally set this review to 4 stars, but then remembered that there are probably far better sets out there for just a few dollars more, so I put it down to 3.

DurableGreat magnet strength and quality

This was everything I dreamed it would be. I love modern looking things and also remember seeing a glass chess set at a relatives house growing up used for decor and i thought it was so bad-ass and elegant. I have to figure out a surface to play the game on because the board is flat (I’ve been using colored construction paper). My kids and my grandma are enamored but how beautiful the set is as well. Great price and great game to learn, may as well do it in fashion.

I had a glass chess set when I was in middle school during the early 2000s, for some reason this boxed set of glass chess pieces, even the box brings in a feeling like I seen this style before. I love it out of pure nostalgia and feeling of the pieces. The frosted glass especially is top notch. While it has some small feign scratches probably from shipping, I'm not looking to keeping it out of style but out of memories. 10/10
