Absolute powerhouse of a product-- I'm never going back
After trying Smith's Rosebud Salve (don't be fooled by similar-looking tins from C.O. Bigelow! They are vastly different products!) I am NEVER going back to lip balms and what you will. I've been steadily chipping away at my tin of Rosebud Salve for a little over a year now and there's still so much left to go.This thing packs a punch while still being gentle and delicate. The smell is super delicate and fragrant without smelling like your old relatives' perfume. The balm doesn't feel greasy to the touch when applied and my lips feel so soft and moisturized afterwards! And they STAY soft and moisturized for hours!I've never used a lip balm that didn't irritate my lips or make me break out in hives altogether until Smith's. The best part is that, this little tin is not just balm but a salve and it is a godsend for small scratches, dry cuticles, and all around moisture in a pinch. I cannot recommend this product enough. In fact, I still have half a tin left to go (so maybe another year's worth of use) and I'm already committed to buying a couple more tins so that I never have to go without it.

The best!! Rosebud has been around for 128 years
The media could not be loaded. ****YOU REALLY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CUT OPEN TIN TO OPEN PRODUCT. I HAVE BEEN OPENING IT SINCE I WAS 5 y.o. Twist and pull top off at same time. If tin is oily on outside wash tin with detergent (while closed) with warm water to be able to twist and turn after towel drying it. . **** if arrives melted bc of heat in summer just place tin on candle warmer to melt it in tin then let sit and cool. I love my rosebud salve.I am so happy to have some Rosebud Salve. My grandmother use to order this out of the TV guide or Guiding post magazine when I was a kid. She ordered a box at a time with probably 6 tins at a time. She always had a can some where near her body. I didn't even know it still existed. She used it ALL the time on lips, hands, face, arms, or legs and us grand kids. Chapped lips, diaper rash and all things in between. On cuts, scrapes or insect bites. She was born in 1901 and I know she used it most of her life. I have spoken of it often over the years and no one ever knew what I was talking about. Then I searched it and my heart filled with joy and fond memories. I LOVE IT!!!!. It is not hard to open just twist and turn at the same time. Buy this product it is thinner than vaseline and YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. I will be ordering more to give as gifts now I know this gem still exist. Dry hands and lips no more. It is safe to use around the eyes also. Give it a try. I remember it use to be very cheap and I see it now has a "cult" type following so the price has increased but the product is good and American made.

Moisturizing
Lovely fragrance. Petroleum consistency with a rose fragrance. Great for moisturizing nails and cuticles.

Aww, the nostalgia of Rosebud Salve
As a child my Momma would say, “Let’s put a little Rosebud Salve on it and it’ll get well.” I realized later it was my Momma’s love that enhanced the healing process. I love the fragrance and how this salve provides a moisture barrier for minor scrapes. It is great as a lip balm, too. I buy it in the tin and also in the little tubes for my lips. Precious memories are invoked from looking at the tin and from the fragrance!

Great! But not my favorite as a lip balm
Originally I bought this hoping it would be a dupe for my favorite, yet expensive, lip balm: Christian Dior Creme de Rose. The smell of this product is lovely, and very similar to CdR, but the texture was a little less luxurious. As far as lip balms go, its ok; I like it much more than the over hyped Nivea lip butters, but not as much as Nivea milk and honey, and certainly not as much as CdR.On whim, I decided to rub this on my dry, cracked knuckles and it felt amazing! Within an hour the pain was gone. I've also tried this on my cuticles, as my hands in general have been rough this winter, and it was also great for that! After a cold, I suffered from a very irritated nose from all the tissues; I rubbed this around the area, and it soothed the irritation without making me break out, unlike pain old Vaseline. Will definitely repurchase, but not really for use on my lips.P.s. I've also sent the poor tin through the washer and dryer a couple times; its melted of course, but still the same texture, and totally usable! haha

Reliable as always
Love this stuff. Pricey but absolutely worth it. I sense no formula difference between the tin and the squeeze tube.

Good for Everything
I have been using Rose Bud ever since I was a little kid and my grandma use it on me. That was many years ago and I am still using it today. Use to be able to buy it locally but not anymore. Will be getting mine from Amazon from now on.

Meh
This product is ok. It’s really not much more than scented Vaseline, and the scent isn’t that great. The scent sort of has two layers. On top it smells like that cheap rose air freshener at the Dollar Tree, but that scent seems to be there to cover up a much less desirable scent underneath, but I can’t pinpoint exactly what it is. I just know I don’t enjoy having it directly under my nose. The product does seem to help when my lips are chapped (no more so than straight Vaseline, though), but I’m not seeing much improvement to my skin when I put it anywhere else. (The backs of my hands get really chapped and it does very little for them.)I also agree with the others complaining about the tin. It’s hard to open. If, for some reason, you need to get back into it when you have the product on your hands, you are SOL.
