Don't be fooled by the low price...Highly Recommend!
This was the second camera I bought...the first was a more expensive Samsung ST200F which I promptly returned because the interface was so clunky - it took way to long to get through the menu and options. This camera got consistently good reviews so I figured I'd try it, but didn't expect much based on the price. I LOVE it!!Far exceeding my expectations, this cheap little camera takes excellent pictures, has a touch screen to get through the menu quickly, even in shooting mode, and has a lot of fun features. I have shot almost all my Christmas pictures in "toy camera mode" which softly blackens the edges and gives a warm nostalgic feel to any photo. Close up shots are crystal clear in most lights, the zoom is decent, but not amazing. The stabilization is excellent even on no-flash settings, which I use most and I have very shaky camera hands. My only real complaint is the dinky noise it makes when you use the zoom. I almost sent it back the first day because of it, but after giving it a test run, I love the pictures it takes waay too much. Its kinda like a great car which has a dinky horn.I'm not a master photographer, but for an average family this is taking fantastic pictures. You could spend a lot more on a family camera, but this model will perform just as well I think. And the touch screen is super fun. Highly recommend!!

Great small camera...
I bought this camera for my wife to take out of country on a trip. It was small and compact but took great quality pictures. Its not a SLR model obviously, but takes pretty fast photos of good quality. She returned with some great shots and we're no photographers. The other option I like on this is the screen on the back is touchscreen. Makes navigating menus easier and you can even take pictures by tapping the screen (much like a smartphone which is what we were used to).The battery life is outstanding, lasted her whole two week trip with moderate use. It uses a rechargeable battery (not standard double AA ones though) so you have to take its charger with you but its small too and charges the battery pretty quickly. This was a great choice for a point and shoot camera for vacations and travel.

A big disappointment. :-(
I bought this camera to take on vacation to Israel. If you only want to take indoors pix or night shots, this is a nice little camera. But outside, with no view finder, the daylight washes out the screen and you can't see what you're trying to take a pic of--like when you're trying to read your cell phone screen in daylight. It really sucked; I never knew if what I was trying to capture is what the camera was aimed at. Pix came out off center and focused on the wrong thing. It isn't like I'll be making a trip like that again, so this is very disappointing. Save your money for a camera that has a viewfinder as well as a viewing screen.

The best camera I've ever owned.
This is by far one of the best cameras I have ever bought (and I have bought a lot of cameras all of which cost a bit more than this one. The battery life is really good though it does take a proprietary battery unfortunately. The image quality is great and it still has most of the settings customizable despite being a point and shoot. Where this camera really shines though is the video recording oddly enough. The color and contrast is fantastic and still works well in low light situations. The frame rate is smooth and the clarity is great. even the audio is good but the biggest features with the video is the macro and stabilization. The recordings are silky smooth even with a shaky hand and the details that it can record with macro is out of this world. The touch screen isn't that great but I don't really have any use for it as the menus are just as easy to navigate with the buttons. the feel of it in the hand is very comfortable and feels very solid though I still wouldn't dare to drop it. It even supports up to a 32 gig SD card (maybe more but the largest I have is a 32) What it all comes down to is if it were to ever break or get lost/stolen I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Easy and Fun
I love my A3400! It's lightweight yet durable, small enough to fit in my pocket, and has a really big viewing screen! I've had other Canon cameras before, which made using the different buttons and options really easy. I also like that you can turn off the touchscreen option. I really love playing with some of the different picture effects, like the "toy camera" and the "super vivid" effects, and the "discreet" function is awesome for taking pictures during church ceremonies or other places where you don't want a flash or any camera noises. The only thing I don't like is that, unlike my last Canon digital camera, I can no longer select a bunch of pictures and delete them all at once. I can only either delete them one at a time or all at once. A minor quibble, however.

Love this Camera!
I love this Camera!!!!I was somewhat skeptical about buying this due to the lack of reviews. There arent much reviews on a camera unless it's totally famous or new. So I bought it because it was sale for mothers day.I have been using it for about a week now, took it to the zoo. It took excellent pictures, and on top of that the video function is just awesome, it looks like a movie when you're shooting it!The only problem with this is how the price when up like crazy in a day or two. The camera bundle (red) was on sale for 120. Then the next day it was 130 (when I bought it), then the following week, I check it goes up to 220, then 200. Now it's in the 150's. Just keep your eye on it, don't buy if its over 150!I would recommend it to everyone, unless you're a professional, then buy a bigger better camera. I am looking forward to taking this to Europe and Asia this summer :DOh it's touch screen too, thought it was cool when I found out by accident. You probably wanna also buy the class 10 memory card for this camera when taking high resolution pictures due to the lag on lower class. It does come with a 4GB memory card, but use that for a backup.
