Lily, Zack, Khal, James, Maddie and Batts seem to be the only people who actually enjoy going to school because it's the only place were they can play football. But after a new head master is brought into the school he bans football but why? What's the problem with the new teacher and how are they going to play? They've got somewhere else to play but what will be the cost if they get caught? I really enjoyed reading this book and other Tom Palmer books.

I bought this for my nearly 6 year old to read and it is written in a very accessible way. He is loving his first "Chapter" book and is able to access the vocabulary. Highly recommend!

This book is a brilliant short read for anyone who would like to read a short, fun, great story about football! Tom Palmer is a great author and I recommend all of his books. Secret FC is very well written and easy to understand. I loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone!!!!

I can really relate to the children’s situation, and many people can, so this is a easy book to pick up. Many non-football fans could enjoy it and even though I have read worse and better football books by the author, this is not his best, but nor his worst. The book still makes sense if you don’t know much about football, or sport, but it does help to be able to relate to a craving, taken away, even though you can just understand it. There are also nice twists and turns in this fairly dramatic story.
