These cables are excellent. To keep your Ctek charger working flawlessly make sure of two (2) things: 1. BEFORE putting clamps on the negative and positive terminals make sure Ctek is UNPLUGGED from outlet. 2. BEFORE removing clamps from terminals UNPLUG Ctek first.Lastly, re-reading the manual will prove the two suggestions are critically important.

I've had my CTEK 7002 for a few years and recently noticed the original plug with the Alligator clips was starting to signs of heat damage. The plug was VERY WARM to the touch and I was worried that continued use might cause damage to the CTEK or throw the charge sequence off. The newer plug has an LED that shows the approximate state of charge which may or may not be useful. I'm so used to looking at the state of charge indicator on the box itself that using the cable for that may not be of much benefit.

My original clips were destroyed by a neighbor borrowing my charger so I was looking for a replacement. These work great. Better than the originals.

So, I was surprised to open the package and see the length of the wire is actually 5-foot, which is great, because I also bought the 8-foot extension which I won't need now and can return.Again, entire length measures 5 feet long(at least it did with mine), not sure if everyone else got the same thing. The product dimensions suggest it's very short. Notice the picture I'm attaching; the wire is as long as my car is wide!
