Very Cool, Simple, Works as advertised.
This is a great product, and specifically, allows you to turn on and off, say your outdoor security or landscape lighting based on local sunrise and sunset times (which vary by the day the farther north or south of the equator you are over the course of the year) by plus or minus a user-customizable number of minutes. You set it up once, and you are done. There is a model that wirelessly connects to a smart phone app, but as you will likely only need to go through the set up once, or perhaps very rarely after that, the premium you pay to get that functionality is likely overkill. It looks great, allows you to override the set schedule to manually turn power off or on, and seems solidly engineered and well built.

Works Perfectly
I replaced an old Intermatic in-wall timer with this device, because the old unit was not designed to work with LED lighting. I stayed with the Intermatic brand, because this device lives inside a wall and build quality was therefore important to me. It works just as advertised. Some of the screen fonts are a bit small, but the unit is backlit when being used. Showing the next event time and action is a great feature. Programming the timer is straightforward, but I would definitely recommend downloading the operation manual from the Intermatic website. I found it was easiest to modify the built-in templates, instead of starting from scratch. However, instructions for doing so are not included in the small pamphlet that comes with the device. The instructions in the full operation manual are much more complete and easier to follow.

It's a good timer, does its job, and I recommend it with no reservations
This replaced another timer that lost its programming if the power even flickered, and I couldn't be happier with the ousting of the previous un-named brand. The installation instructions were clear (although I do know my way around electrical systems a bit), and programming it was not too bad. Once installed and configured (six+ months ago), the timer now works exactly as we hoped. Recommended purchase.

Easy to Program - Set and Forget
What I love the ease of programming and "Astronomic" dusk to dawn function. What I don't like is that the backup battery can't be replaced. It is supposed to last about 10 years but I'm sure that assumes no power outages to place a drain on the battery. When the battery has drained or passed its design life, you'll need to live with reprogramming the timer after every power failure or buying a new unit.

What else is incorrect?
This product was purchased solely because it is advertised to operate in either 50Hz or 60Hz. There is no indications in the owners manual regarding how to change this setting and there is no Hz settings in the digital menu either. The end result is this ST700W is unable to keep correct time and therefore defeats the purpose of having a time in the first place. It is useless. If there is errors in the labeling of this product, I must ask, what else is incorrect or non functional?

Much improved over ST-01 but text size can challenge
Programming instructions included in the package were lacking in detail. I just had to forge ahead and try to work through the process. It took a few tries to get it right, including my realization that the off setting for a particular day is a separate event. Once I oriented myself to the order of programming particular on/off events for a given day, it became fairly easy to fill out my desired settings.Adding to the challenge of programming is the very small font size of many of the prompts. You may find you need your readers. I have several of their ST-01 digital timers, so I was surprised that the text was often much smaller on the ST700W, despite a much larger LCD display. In operation, performance has been satisfactory. And the display is readable and informative.I suspect the ST700W cannot be used in unheated areas, just like the ST-01, however.

Lights go on; Lights go off
I bought several of these timers for my outside lighting. (front porch, back decks, side garage) They were as easy to install as standard mechanical switch. Easy to program. enter date, time, latitude, and longitude. I set them to turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn. There is a simple-to-use button if you want to override the set program. Works great for my needs! There are a lot of other programmable options I'm probably never going to use, but it's nice they are available. There is a more expensive "smart" version that will allow you to control it from your phone or over the internet, but again not something I'd use.
