With the large number of items included in this set, my expectations were pretty low! What a wonderful surprise to discover a very nice quality of products and neatly packaged as well! Each set of 5 dpns is separately packaged and the needles are labeled with size. All of mine were straight and smooth; my daughter’s set were perfect too! No, they are not as slick as metal needles, but they were well finished and performed as any quality bamboo needle should. A few reviewers have complained about rough finishing and even suggested sanding with a fine grit sandpaper, but neither of the sets we received required any additional attention. The crochet hook set is also very usable. The other items were as expected and provide a nice assortment of the typical odds and ends you use when knitting. I doubt you can find a nicer, more comprehensive assortment at this price anywhere! If there was one thing I’d change, it would be the length of the dpns; I personally prefer the 4-6” lengths, but that’s just me. Altogether an outstanding value of very nice knitting items!

These wooden bamboo needles are perfect for knitters new to double pointed needles. Using DPNs can be a bit clumsy at first—having to manage multiple needles instead of just two, but the texture of the wood holds the stitches in place where they stand little chance of falling off the needle—unlike metal needles which are slick. Included in this set is a set of crochet needles—always handy to have when knitting. The DPN and crochet sets are complete and come with very useful accessories—cable and tapestry needles, scissors, and a measuring tape, all in a sturdy plastic box. I’m very happy with this purchase!

The knitting needles are great, clearly labeled and smooth wood. I bought this set for these specifically and this entire kit was a good enough deal to give it a try! I found that the crochet hooks may need to be filed down a tiny bit with a nail file around the hook part as some did snag my yarn a bit. I prefer metal crochet hooks over wood in general but that is my own personal preference! The set of tools is good too. The scissors are the only thing I disliked. They don't cut yarn well at all. If the kit having scissors matters to you, perhaps keep shopping, but if you don’t mind the cheap and almost useless scissors, then this set is pretty good otherwise! Overall this set is a good choice if you want a little of everything!

All you need is a little bit of very fine sandpaper to smooth the roughness of the finish and fibers sticking out that catch on yarn. I used 220 and it worked great, just a very light smoothing over each size as I used them for the first time. There are many strong reasons to buy local when you can, but once in a while the bottom line cash amount has to make the decision, so I'm glad these are here. I have some older ones of the same type that I've been using for a few years. They've held up perfectly well and are smooth as butter after the first few projects.

After ordering these needles, I didn't use them for a long time because I had several other working projects. Once I got to these needles, I was disappointed by several issues. 1) There were only three needles of each size, not five. To knit in the round with double pointed needles, at least four are needed. 2) Two of the needles were splintered to the extent that yarn would snag on the splinters and that the splinters could not be fixed by sanding. These two needles were unusable. 3) One of the needles (6mm) was mislabeled. It is noticeable larger than the other two 6mm needles. 4) The size of each needle is imprinted into the wood. Some of these imprints are very light and difficult to read. Besides these issues, most of the needles are fine. They are smooth enough for comfortable knitting and a great value for the price. The three star rating is mostly due to the first issue, that I received only three of each size and therefore cannot use these needles for knitting in the round. If you order these, count and inspect your needles right after opening to be safe.

WOW - happy to say these are better quality than I expected. I just wanted some inexpensive double pointed needles to teach myself to knit socks and hats. These are lightweight and the wood feels good in my hands - easy to manipulate while learning. Had to sand a few of the crochet hooks a tiny bit inside the hook but that was a minor matter. Definitely would recommend. Update : put point protectors on one end of the double pointed knitting needles to use as short regular needles for small items like skinny scarves - works great!

It's nice to use bamboo needles with tiny, slippery yarns/threads, as the needles hold the work better. These are true to size, and provide just enough friction to hold slippery yarns in place. The only drawback on this set are the bags the needles come in. Some arrived with splits in the bags, which I had to tape up. For another dollar or two, it'd be worth it to find some better quality storage bags and zipper pouch to store everything in. A simple sticker on the bags with the size of the needle labelled in a font bigger than 0.5cm would be a good thing too. It's almost impossible to read the size on the 0 needles! I had to use my gauge to find the size on the smaller ones.

Disclaimer, I'm just a beginner so I don't have troves of experience to give a professional review. I bought these for that very fact, wanting something I could use for multiple patterns and have a go at DPN knitting. After reading a few reviews I nearly didn't get them, but I'm actually glad I did. They served their purpose and continue be pretty handy and worth the price considering I spent the same amount on only two circular needles.

Didn’t love these. They snag on everything. I have made use of all the accessories though. Just the needles are meh.

Even for the price it’s still a bit meh. The needles bend mad easy even for wood products but the little carry packet is handy even if you’ll need to find a different container to use.
