Melphyreal New Replacement Battery A1641 A1574 Compatible with Apple iPod Touch 6 6th Gen 1043mAh 3.83V + Tools

If you don't apply enough solder on the iPod 6 contacts, you won't be able to charge your battery. It's not the battery that failed, it could be you. I found this out reluctantly with my own fails. To avoid this, make little solder mountains on the iPod contacts, then melt them into the battery contacts for better results. Repeat if solder spillage occurs after cleanup. The seller's instructions are good. After charging and draining this battery 3-times, it's lasting longer and charging faster than my dying OEM battery. My iPod 6, the envy of so many friends...is new again.

The hardest part of the process of replacing the battery is getting the case apart. But patience and a little heat will do it. The old battery will need to be unsoldered to remove it and the new one soldered in as well. Before starting though watch a youtube explanation on how it is done. The Melphyreal battery was easy to install and worked great and tools you need are included. (The screws of the Ipod are very small, be sure you place them in a cup or magnetic cup to make sure you do not loose them).

The battery kit arrived very fast and in good condition, In a small box with tools in a zip lock bag and battery in an anti-static bag, Although it's a good complete kit. The battery capacity is less than the stock OEM battery, Only providing 3 hours when playing movies before requiring recharging. Also, for some reason the iTouch will not charge to 100%, it will only recharge to 99%. Battery issue, not sure? As a DIY project, take your time and not rush, it was fairly Straight forward and no surprises. Key note: When replacing the battery, be sure to use plenty of solder Flux on the terminals Otherwise, a cold solder joint is very possible.

Very reliable, easily recommendable

Battery will not charge at all. Verified cable and adapter (actually tried 3 different combinations first). Battery will not charge. I asked question whether others had this problem but only got one response, which by the answer the person did not read my question accurately. Can't recommend this at all, as difficult as it is to replace, and have it totally non functional, very dissatisfied.

After battery replacement, I discharged to 10% and recharged to 100% four times. Very pleased with the performance so far. About eight hours run time. Key is not to partial charge, run it down to 10% , then recharge. Not a job for the careless, be very careful. YouTube videos are helpful, especially the “what not to do” ones. After six months the performance is down to two hours. Time to replace the battery. I fear there are no longer any good batteries available. Planned obsolescence.

An excellent replacement battery for my Ipod.

I love my ipod touch but the battery in it was heating up so much that it was swelling and distorting the screen and caused the screen to partially lift away from the base. The ipod touch is no longer being made and can't be replaced so I purchased this new battery and repair kit to try to have it fixed. My friend's son is good at repairing electronic items and I asked the son to replace the battery using this battery repair kit. So far it has worked great but I plan to purchase a back-up battery kit just in case this new battery starts to heat up also.
