Exactly what I needed!
I had bought my dad a new Smart Blu-ray player to connect to his projector (for Netflix and such) but his surround sound was bought 15 years ago (around about) which meant it didn’t have the ports needed. I bought this along with a digital coaxial cable which did the trick! The only thing that almost tripped me up is that this needs a power source. The cable is included, you just need a spare USB wall plug.

Works very well
Works like a charm. My Sony Blu-ray player has only a digital coaxial output for audio, which was previously connected to my soundbar. After switching to another audio system, I could not connect it. Now the audio goes from the player into this little converter and RCA into the subwoofer of my new sound system. I had to change the setting on the player to output PCM audio or it just makes a noise. The player also has a USB port which is enough to power the device, no need for a wall plug.

Excellent product can be used with Sky Q box.
Was switching to Sky Q and after arranging noticed that their was no red/white RCA sockets to the box. However it does have optical link and usb sockets. My wife whom is hard of hearing utilises wireless headphones when viewing tv. This alerted me to a possible problem. Saw this and purchased arrived extremely quickly. It has the necessary cables required beside the unit itself. I do have on my tv(LG 40”) various sockets so decided to utilise the optical out and its USB port. Plugged in and connected to the red and white rca headphone plugs hey presto it worked. Had to switch sound to internal speakers plus optical out on tv menu.Decided to leave the headphones plugged into the tv. I am quite certain that these will also be able to utilise the optical out socket and usb socket on the Sky Q box. Reason left in tv is that beside Sky have prime video and plugged into tv me wife can now listen to all services. If plugged into Sky Q or other Sky boxes you can only hear the Sky service programmes. Would highly recommend this product.

Great DAC
A fantastic DAC that allowed me to go direct from my PS4 console to a set of external speaker to eliminate sound delay through the HDMI.The sound quality is as good as it could be coming from a games console and the box itself feels pretty well built. I love that it's powered from a 5v micro usb rather than DC powered like a few others I've used, it allows me to pull power directly from my TVs usb.I would definitely recommend this product.

Great little product
I plugged this into the back of my Samsung tv with the output going to an old Yamaha surround amp. Every input going into the tv via HDMI and scart lead works brilliantly and I'm only using one input on my amp. A great well made product. I chose this model which came without the mains adaptor due to the power being supplied via my tv. I didn't want a cheap adaptor and if required I can purchase a decent one I know would be safe to use. Overall I cannot fault this product. Came with optical lead and usb lead. Very pleased

Buzzing noise when in use
The Audio convertor buzzes extremely on various channels making it impractical to use. I did write to the supplier and they kindly sent me a replacement very promptly in case the first one was faulty. I tried the new convertor, followed all the instructions, and the same loud buzzing/interference happened. I have contacted Amanka several times since for help or guidance and not heard a thing back despite reminders. I am therefore disappointed with the product and customer service.

What you pay for is what you get.
Today I had time to arrange stuff in the house and after I arranged my system and all my cables I plugged this converter in. It did not work, the light would not switch on. When I plugged out the power cable to plug it in again... well check the pictures. This is what you get if you buy cheap Chinese crap. I want my money back!
