Taytools 101202 10 Piece Soft Silicone Chisel Edge Guard Set for Chisels 1/8 Inch to 1-1/4 Inches

I bought these to protect the edges of individual chisels which I keep in a workbench drawer. For this, they work just fine. Someone who does on-site work might prefer keeping a set of toolbox chisels in a tool roll to prevent misplacement of the tips on the job. But for bench work, they are handy since they stay in place and don't slip off when the tools are not in use.

I spend a lot of time making sure my chisels are scalpel sharp. These blade guards will protect them when not in use. Fit snug and don't fall off like the hard plastic one do. More important they will protect your fingers when you go to reach for them. This makes them MUCH safer to use, especially in the field as they won't accidentally fall off CREATING A SEVERE LACERATION POTENTIAL. I have chisels that I keep in my field kit that I used the hard plastic guards and they were forever falling off into the pocket the chisels were stored in. I would have to continually fish them out. Not any more, first got these guards for those chisels, bought several sets more for all my chisels. only downside is 1 1/4" is as big as they offer. Cheep enough that you wont freak out if they get lost on a job site.

I was skeptical, but these are great. They are much better than the free ones that come with new chisels. They are thick, durable, and go on snugly. I wish they were slightly less expensive, but still worth the money because they maintain the blades while also sparing my fingers and tool belt from getting cut.

These work a lot better than I expected they would. Definitely a great value for the price.

Not exactly the safest cover ever. My chisels can easily slip out of the cover.
