I bought this set and it’s been very useful. The bits feel solid and well-made, and they fit fasteners snugly without slipping. The set covers a good range of sizes for common jobs. The case keeps everything organized and easy to find. For the price, this set offers great value and works well for both basic repairs and regular garage use.

I've obtained a motley variety of hex bit sockets over the years, usually on a per-need basis: a differential plug here, a coolant plug there, a suspension fitting here. I wanted a set for uniformity and completion, but since these are so rarely needed by a DIY mechanic, and since I had the ones I really needed already, I didn't want to spend much. I also detest cheaply made or finished tools, so for years I just made do, not being able to justify buying a "nice" set. But for $15, or even slightly more when not on special, this set is a total no-brainer. Few skips, just metric, nicely chromed sockets, straight inserted bits, and a very nice, compact case to tuck it all away until needed. It's mostly smaller and medium sizes. What's missing? There's no 11 mm or 13 mm (not that I have ever needed one), and it stops at 14 mm. I have needed a 17 mm before, which is outside the range of this kit. But since I already have one, no complaints. Amazing quality for the price. Compared to the Pittsburgh set I looked at in person these are much, much nicer in finish quality, include 13 rather than 9 sockets, and includes a case. For the same price! (The only advantage perhaps is that the HF Pittsburgh set does include a 17 mm).

I bought these mostly for torquing bolts on bicycles. These bit sockets are high quality, and they interface well with all my hardware, a great fit. The case is sturdy, the bits lay in it nicely, and the latch is very secure. There are size labeled receptacles for each bit; the labels are consistently molded into the case, protruding .6mm from the surface, making them impossible to fade. As mentioned, the bits lay in the case, as opposed to snapping in, and so there is 3.5mm thick sheet of foam which rests over the bits, keeping them from rattling around when the case is closed. This foam sheet is loose, and so you must keep track of it, but im sure one could attach it the lid of the case if they preferred. The bits don't come loose without the foam, but they are pretty noisy. I actually prefer this over snap in receptacles because I enjoy the ease of access when I am using them, and swapping back and forth. This only bit me once so far, when clumsily backhanded the open case, sending the bits flying. This is an excellent set of hex bit sockets, with excellent performance, high quality build, and a nice case. Low price and high value, I recommend this set, and I would by them again without hesitation.

I was working on my bike and needed Metric bits. Went all over to various auto parts stores and ended up only finding one that offered/had metric bits in stock. They wanted $50 for a set, with roughly the same range of bits. This bothered me a lot and I immediately got on Amazon and searched for bits. Just wow on the price point of this set. Not only were they cheap but they are very well made and sturdy. One disappointment however is that the bits don't lock into the provided case and are free to bounce around when open. I bumped and kicked it a few times and had to reorganize them, but overall, am very happy with the product.

If you break a bit, NAPA has individual replacement sockets. Intended for light duty, not intended for impact socket use. A high quality set would probably be close to $100.00. For instance, the 14mm 1/2 drive hex socket from NAPA is $13.50. I did not use the carry and storage case, instead I integrated the sockets with my existing 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch square drive socket sets using socket organizers. All of the bits are press fit into the socket and therefore not interchangeable. Individual bits are available from NAPA (in packages of two) in 1/4 hex drive and 5/16 hex drive. Individual bits will require an adaptor socket to hold the bit. Adaptor sockets in 1/4 and 3/8 square drive are available from NAPA. Home Depot also has individual sockets in some sizes. They also have Hex Drive Screwdriver Bit Sockets. Good quality coming out of Taiwan. Steel is steel as long as it's properly heat treated and good grade. No rounding observed on bits so far, used almost daily in garage setting as a heavy equipment mechanic.

Bit doesn't come with all in 1/4" square drive. 14mm is 1/2" drive. H7-H12 are 3/8" drive. Quality of chrome finishing is acceptable.
