Inside Mari, Volume 1 Paperback – 3 Jan. 2019

Usually is talk about art, storyline ect but I'm going through a similar experience and I understand this so much. I'm in the closet,out over and over so it's been nice to read a graphic novel so relatable. Big high five to the writer!

I just recently managed to snag the 9th (final) volume of this series and read the whole thing in the course of 4 days, if you're interested in very well written human dramas, then i think this will be right up your alley, i've seen some mixed reception of this series, but personally i think this is Shuzo Oshimi's best work - yes, even better than Flowers of Evil, or Happiness (and his one-shots).Keep in mind that you need to be in a certain mindset before biting into this one, as it will massively enhance the story, then put on an ambient soundtrack and start reading.This series is not about world building so don't go into it with that thought - this is all about the characters, probably some of the best i've seen in terms of character driven series, which is quite rare for seinen manga, and is a more common trope with shoujou and josei manga.Is there any negatives? well.. if you're familiar with this author, then spoiler alert but unfortunately you're probably not going to be impressed with the ending, but personally i thought it was quite fitting - though very bittersweet, which is why i only recommend reading this if you're in that special mindset i mentioned earlier in the review.Genuinely i'd put this in my top 20, maybe even top 10 best written manga of all time, and i've read quite a few, which is why i'm scoring it a perfect 5/5, though this is just my personal taste and you shouldn't base a purchase on just one review, hopefully you'll enjoy reading this series as much as i did, it's quite a trip.

(Manga) This is easily one of my favourites from Shuzo Oshimi. This volume in particular can feel kind of slow but man was it worth reading. As usual the writing and art is great(8/10)(Amazon) Came in great condition but it had a weird smell??? not like a bad smell or anything but an unusual one for sure(4/5)

Enjoyed this, definitely a,“mature”read. I wasn’t totally happy with the end. But probably need to re read as I rushed it a bit. I read it in one sitting, couldn’t stopAlso, definitely not for the easily offended. It does get a bit weird.

I will go with the majority. At the start it seemed so much unlike his other works. That is until the author stated this is definitely his work and there's a lot of ... Questionable stuff here.The ending to me was very rushed and destroyed some character development. It left me conflicted because the start of the manga was engaging - even if you could guess what was happening early on (lots of hints).Still unique start with a rushed ending
