Charles River Apparel Unisex Classic Solid Pullover Jacket

I bought this jacket mainly for rainy days. I had sizing issues that made me return my first order (Medium) and opted for a size Small. The women’s jacket, in the same style, was sold out in the color black so I tried my chances with the men’s version. So maybe that’s why the sizing was off for me because I’m a woman. My measurements are 36C, 26 waist & 5’0”. I normally wear a small or medium in women’s tops/outerwear. And the small is a bit baggy. I have plenty of room for layering at least two sweaters and a tank top underneath the jacket. When first wearing it, it was huge, looked like the jacket was swallowing me, but then I adjusted the bottom portion where the string is and tightened the hip part. That made it slightly better. I washed and air dried the jacket and now it seems like it’s a good fit for my body. However, the arms are still baggy but I don’t mind. Idk if the jacket shrunk but it looks ok now. (I wash my clothes with warm water, I hung up the jacket to dry) The jacket ends slightly below my butt but if I move a lot or raise my arms, the jacket will also raise and reveal my butt and front. Just putting that out there for anyone who’s planning to wear leggings with the jacket and possibly has camel toe lol. The jacket shields the rain and keeps me warm. The front pockets are a nice size. I just stick my hands or phone in there whenever I’m walking around. The hood part is also a nice size. I personally think I have a big head and this hood covers it well. One flaw would be that the ‘cotton’ (not sure if it is cotton), lining in the inside sheds or transfers to my shirt sometimes. It’s very noticeable when i’m wearing black. Overall, I’m satisfied and would say the jacket was well worth the price. Just a suggestion, there should be an XS (

Alright, listen up folks, I never write review because I’m way too lazy but this jacket is my life saver right now. So, as a sorority girl, I keep seeing "OMG, I just LUV Charles River" and "I love it, it's just so cute" and I'm here thinking, yo... it's just a rain jacket.... how great could this actually be? Guys, this rain jacket is actually that amazing and it's the only thing that's keeping me dry in Juneau, Alaska while I’m doing my research project here. I finally bought it because well, it was in my favorite color and I was bored and I thought I could always use another rain jacket. It’s warm and soft on the inside and because it’s a hoodie style, rain doesn’t seep through any zippers. I can zip it up when the rain starts to get outta control and my favorite part of this jacket is that there’s this pocket thing right in the middle fitted with a strong velcro and once I put my phone in there and that puppy stays dry as a bone. My North Face jacket doesn’t keep me as warm as this Charles River jacket does and I’ve been completely drenched before and my upper half doesn’t get wet at all. Definitely converting to CR jackets and I’m probably going to get another one in 6 months. Oh, it does run big. I usually wear a size S in shirts, other jackets, etc but I got a XS and I can still wear a sweater, fleece jacket AND this raincoat over it all. Buy this if you want to stay dry. But if you're into getting wet, cold, miserable then buy this and give it to a friend. Or me.

I bought this rain jacket to have something with a hood that would effectively keep out heavy rain. So far it has done that and I'm definitely happy I purchased it. I was surprised to find that it's fleece-lined, but I'm happy it is because the rain makes you feel colder. I like the kangaroo pouch combined with hoodie-like pockets. The sleeves and waist fit really well so it keeps the water out without making you look like a muffin. My only complaint is that I wish the hood was a little bigger / longer and had draw strings. It comes to about my eyebrows, but that's only if I don't have my hair pulled up. The hood also doesn't stay down in the wind unless I'm holding it.

I think this rain parka will work okay, and it seems plenty well-made - but it's going to be a lot warmer out walking/jogging than I was expecting. I give it 5 stars and not 4 because, while I was hoping for lighter weight, that isn't the parka's fault. There's a lining, which I knew there would be, but it's thick flannel that almost seems to have some fill, so it's considerably heavier than my Colombia rain jacket with a thin no-fill liner, and the outer waterproof layer is substantial so I don't think it will breathe much. I anticipate getting pretty warm wearing this while out exercising in the Northwest rain. I want to keep it because I need something out there, but I guess I'll just wear a tank top under it. Also, folks said it was oversized, but I ordered the XL since I wanted it big enough to wear over my hoody sweatshirt (which I clearly don't need with this warm rain parka), and it fits over the sweatshirt but with no room to spare. Granted, I'm 5'6'' 200lbs with most of my weight in my belly, but still... An XL unisex is typically more than adequate to accommodate layers.

I had a Charles River pullover years ago and loved it, so it was a no brained when I needed a comfy, lined, water resistant pullover for my trip to the mountains. This jacket is so comfy and offers a water proof exterior with a lined cotton interior. So cozy and great for mild to chilly outdoor conditions. I’ve found these jackets run a bit large, so I ordered a medium and it fits perfectly! It’s roomy but can be tightened with the adjustable chord on the bottom for a fitted fold under sweatshirt look as needed. Highly recommend this packable jacket for all seasons!

This is a nice, fully waterproof jacket. And it has a bit of lining for warmth too. I wasn't expecting much actually since there are a lot of these inexpensive jackets at Amazon, and some pretty bad reviews as well. But I took a shot and I'm quite pleased. For me, this one's for playing golf in the Reno wind and drizzle and it does that nicely. FULLY waterproof and wind proof. Lined lightly for some warmth. It's a pullover. 2 pockets for my hands. Hood. Listen, I would not call it haute couture or runway stylish, but it actually looks pretty nice. I wear XL and ordered XL and it fits nicely. It's neither baggy nor overly snug; I can swing my clubs just fine. Altogether, I'm very pleased with this one.

Comfortable but runs a little large. Ordered a small (my typical size is small or medium) and it swallow me and is a little long. Overall like but sizing is off.

I just recieved the coat today. Today we happened to be having downpouring rain. I bought this coat to walk my dog in during the Spring and Fall. I was able to test it on our 45 min walk today and it was raining hard and about 42 degrees. I stayed completely dry underneath and warm with a thick hoodie on under it as well. The cinches on the hood worked well to keep the rain out there as well, even in the wind. So, when I came in I was able to take a towel and dry the coat off completely and it was ready to go again!! I would highly recommend this coat for wind and rain for sure. I will come back to edit on longevity of how the coat holds up. I am very happy with this coat as it will serve the purpose that I bought it for. My dog doesnt want to hear any excuses about rain when it comes to his walks...so we walk rain, snow, sleet, wind, you name it...we trek through it all, just need the right essentials and this will be one of my essentials!

Je viens de recevoir donc pas tester dehors encore, j'adore. Je suis forme pomme, habituellement les manteaux et camisole Pennington sont 3x pour les top je prends parfois 4x. Pour se manteaux c'est des grandeur d'homme j'ai pris le 4x ils est parfait j'aime qu'il soit grand probablement que le 3x aurait fait aussi. La qualité semble super, il est doubler avec de la flannel donc plus automne que printemps. Très heureuse de mon achat. ....... Je conseil de le laver avant de le porter a cause de la flannel, j'ai l'impression qu'il est un peu plus petit une fois laver dans mon cas je le sens si je croise les bras donc je ne suis plus certaine que le 3x m'aurais fait. ..... Je l'adore toujours autant.

I ordered a medium, but the jacket I received looks like an XL. I like the look, but it's a bit pricey, too large, and is more insulated than anticipated.

Ufff size problem

Great jacket for a cool spring/fall day. It has cotton lining for warmth and comfort and outer shell is nylon like the classic windbreaker. It has side pockets and a kangaroo pouch that can be used to fold the jacket up into a small pouch for easy packing and carrying when hiking or just as an extra in your vehicle. The arm length could be a bit longer but they are cuffed they will fit well.

Liking it so much that I'm ordering another one but a different color. I weight 250lbs and XXL is a perfect fit. Someone same weight but with a beer belly may need one size larger (if they have it).
