Moeller Marine Products Fuel Tank, 60 Gallon

They got ya! ZERO DETAILS. / follow-up included
Replaced rotten 11 year old aluminum tank with this moeller 60 gal. first off, MOELLER MARINE, has a lot to be desired in the improvements category. Yes, they are a replacement tank company because new aluminum tanks cost twice as much and more. plus, take weeks to get. being in the fishing charter business each day boat is down, I loose $$!Their website sucks!!!!!!!!! do not plan on getting any info worth a nickle off it. they show this tank in a really bad photo.....ONE PHOTO!COULD BARELY TELL IF THE TANK WAS BELLY SHAPED ON THE BOTTOM, or flat. wished it was flat. The box had not a single piece of paperwork in it. not a single piece of installation / specs / details, paperwork. These tanks are not BAFFLED in anyway shape or form.......get ready for sloshing!!!!!! I CALLED TO TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. HAD TO LEAVE A MESSAGE, AND NEVER RETURNED MY CALL!!!!It wouldn't be a big deal to include, which sending units replace the piece of junk plastic one supplied with each tanks description. I AM REPLACING THE JUNK ONE SUPPLIED, with the reed style. ADDING, which one goes with each tank on the website would be a huge improvement. I won't use any sending units other than the reed style. But inaccurate reading is what you'll get no matter what with a UN-BAFFLED TANK!A few more photos of under deck tanks, would be nice. THIS COMPANY PROVIDES the bare minimum of information. That says to me as a customer, they don't care about the customer, just their expenses. I can view more info, get more details, better customer care, from a part-time ebay seller. It wouldn't hurt their overhead one bit, to add in the box with the tank, and on their website, a seriously detailed line drawing with measurements. inlet location, pick-up tube, vent, etc. When installing into my custom built aluminum boat (commercial) I had to wait till the tank arrived via Amazon (who has all this down pat, will take over the world, other businesses need to take note, others need to use as a proper example) before I could do any prep, and modification to get ready for tank installation, seeing I was basically in the DARK! Because of Moellers lack of info, photos. They got ya by the balls...!I hope they take note of this review. This week I also purchased a Freeman Cast Aluminum deck hatch, that cost the same as this tank. The Freeman website leaves no questions unanswered!! PDF files of numerous line drawing, measurements, down to the last detail. Wish Moeller was as thorough. When cutting the deck of any boat, as I had to do. This install is a MAJOR job. Moeller should recognize that tank removal / installations, no matter what size tank or boat configuration, is a BIG DEAL! And expense. A bit more help, won't hurt if they care about a happy customer.(not sure if they do)FOLLOW-UP:several weeks have now passed and so far so good. Was very skeptical about the non-baffled tank. But that is a installation issue. Support on every single side, with expansion room for when full is absolutely mandatory. I was a bit worried about their fittings too. But I check the tank weekly and so far the fittings are fine. '''secure your hoses'' good!
