A great reference guide
I have a hard copy of this book that I reference frequently. It's nice to have a digital copy that I can reference at any time though. This book is great for understanding how energy flows through the body with lots of really remarkable drawings through out. I already practice a different tai chi form so can't say much about the form that the book teaches, but as a general guideline to chi kung and tai chi it is priceless.

Very Helpful instruction
I've only been practicing for a couple of years so my comments come from the perspective of a relative beginner. I find this book to be an excellent supplement to my teacher's instruction. The detailed descriptions of the 13 movement form are extremely helpful, particularly the explanations detailing the focus of spiraling energy in each movement, instead of focusing on what a given posture looks like when it's complete, he describes the process of achieving the posture. (not sure I've adequately described it).I enjoy the practical approach to his writing style, easy to read but alot of information to absorb. Very accessible to a student at my level.

Great Book
Studying Tai Chi? Great book to understand the secrets to this craft. On has to have a master teacher along with a book for there are so many intricate ways to do this modality, a teacher or master is the best way to do that. One cannot just read and bam - one becomes a tai chi expert or even small grasshopper. Every one needs that special teaching from a teaching master that puts it into view. Get to a class, learn from the best and the book just compliments what one is learning.

They have helped me a great deal.
While there are parts of the book that I can't relate to, there are a few that have been extremely helpful. The section I refer to most that has helped me with my practice of T'ai Chi is the one on alignment exercises. They have helped me a great deal.

Just what I was looking for
Learning Tai Chi from a DVD and having some experience with qigong and Daoism in general I was interested in leaning the internal aspects of Tai Chi.This book teaches that very well through several postures in detailed analysis as well as giving an overview of some important Daoist energy work. This books nature is not suited to beginners wanting to learn the forms on its own but is more of a detailed supplement for those interested in learning Tai Chi as more than aerobics.

A good guide for progression
Another well written guide with several different forms to allow a student to progress. Starting with the chi kung forms and the 13 move form, you can progress to the full traditional form. Of course, photos would have helped more than the little drawings.

This is an excellent book which explains the Tai Chi (tai ji quan) form as taught by Master Mantak Chia. There are lots of diagrams to accompany the text and also explanations of Tai Chi in general. The book is essential reading for Master Chia's students studying Tai Chi but perhaps not so useful for students of other styles.

Does what it says
I was looking for a book for the beginner that puts basics across quickly and effectively. Picked this title after going through a huge number of reviews and it turned out to be a good choice. Good and plentiful diagrams backed by clear explanations with the right amount of detail. Works well as a reference book and for someone who does not have access to organized instruction.
