Easy to install and works perfectly

I bought this on behalf of a store that was broken into as it was able to arrive the same day, and it works, however the lock cylinder that comes with this lockset is extremely cheaply made and has no security pins. It has very loose tolerances when compared to other lock cores that are available, which means this lock can be picked or bumped extremely easily. I ended up reusing the old cylinder from the broken lock this was replacing. The rest of this lockset is well made and the bolt is heavier than the original Adams Rite lock that it replaced. The finish matched exactly and the install is very easy. Please note that the key that comes with this lockset uses Kwikset depths cut onto a Schlage style key. This could be problematic if wishing to key other locks to the same key as this lock.

I like to d.i.y ... if I can.. and if I have the tools to do so... my family restaurant door was having issues locking and unlocking.. I call a locksmith in my local area.. ask some questions.. he told me it would be $150. For him to come out..$99 an hour.. and what items (parts) I need (what ever that maybe) add on... now I know that's just business and that's what they are charging... but damn that's alot.. so.. I thought it would be hard to repair.. and I didn't know what to call this.. it isn't a "doorknob" like for homes.. so I checked on my helpful site youtube .. 🙂 it gave me the name and show me its not that hard to replace/repair.. ... so.. if you need a cheaper fix for your business commercial door... (im not saying this lock is a cheap lock) this will do the job.. the install was simple.. if you need help check out how to. On YouTube.... spent an 1hr or 2 ..(because was seeing how things work. And all that). Didn't really need special tools.. but you do need a small size flat head for one part of the installation..... im happy with this.. saved alot of money. And it looks good.

I just ordered this lock however Im not sure if it is suitable for a 2" wide door. Also if you fit this in an hollow type Aluminum door will require mounting clips that fasten to the inside of the door that hold the lock body ? If so are they included? UPDATE: Lock arrived with no instructions or template. Tools required to install in a METAL DOOR are as follows: Grinder, metal grinding blade, Drill, multiple metal drill bits, metal file, metal hole cutting drill bit, multiple screw drivers, small level and a ton of patience. Without instructions or a template it is extremely difficult to figure out where to cut the holes for the lock cylinders and the hole for the hook lock. There is no room for error or the door is finished. This is a job for a professional that has done this before and knows what to do. As mentioned you need mounting clips for the lock body they dont come with the product. The lock itself was good functionally everything worked. My installation was in a 2 x 2 hollow aluminum tube for a sliding gate. Realizing it was beyond my skill set I hired a pro for $200 dollars and Im glad I did otherwise it would have been a complete disaster. youtube videos helped however when its your door and you are working in real time things can go sideways fast. HIRE A PRO!
