Isaiah (LifeChange)

This is the fourth LifeChange studies our Bible study group has done (Joshua, Luke, Acts, and Isaiah). I can’t say enough good things about these studies! You learn so much and it leads to great discussions. Isaiah is a long study though and probably the most challenging of the four we have done.

This Bible Study is so different from others. It encourages the user to dig for themselves. Unlike other studies, which aren’t really studies, but regurgitations of the author, this one makes the user think for oneself. Not only are there academic questions, opinion questions, and find-the-answer questions, there are also personal application questions. After completing Genesis, then Revelation, and now Isaiah, I am well established in my opinion on these Life Change Bible Studies: I love them and recommend to friends!

Wonderful study guide for Isaiah. Has so much extra information about the times and the prophets.

There is plenty of material in every lesson to spend 3 hours on each study with your group. Probably should have been broken out in more manageable sized pieces for each evening of study. What ends up happening is half the questions and material in one lesson is ignored during a 2 hour study.

Lots of good questions

I'm an armchair student of the Bible. I was not prepared for the intensity of this study of an already weighty book of the Bible. Excellent resource.

The LifeChange series is useful for a class where educational levels vary widely, and where the class members have varying levels of acquaintance with the Bible. But since Isaiah is so deep, and so carefully constructed, this particular book of the series isn't the best. The author makes some questionable assertions, and overworks the relationship of Isaiah to Christianity. Isaiah lived c. 700 BCE and was not a Christian. He was warning his own people of Judah in his own time as well as simultaneously prophesying about events still far in the future. The author has the workbook jumping around the entire Bible in an attempt to reconcile the Hebrew prophet with later Christianity, The result is more confusing for students than anything else. They don't get a proper grounding in Isaiah's own time, nor the overarching importance of the Hebrew Bible as an absolutely necessary part of the Christian Bible.

My studying group choose Isaiah as one the book to study. Great book and very insightful.
