Fun, Sexy Rom Com--Give it 20 minutes
I was dubious about this movie because I'm not a fan of Ashton Kutcher and couldn't imagine him as a rom com lead that I would want to watch. I was wrong. He and Natalie Portman (Adam and Emma in the film) make an appealing seemingly mismatched couple, have good comic chops, and despite all the negative comments, they're hot together. The viewers who say they have no chemistry are a puzzle. The movie isn't perfect; it could've used some editing to speed up the beginning, for example, and not every scene works, but both the leads and the supporting cast have charm and heart, the sex scenes work, and the scene where Emma confesses to her sister that she cares about Adam is a gem. Be patient through the slow beginning (15-16 minutes). Don't watch this with your Southern Baptist aunt. And don't miss the scenes at the end after the credits start.People sometimes compare this movie to Friends with Benefits (Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis), but those rating Friends with Benefits higher are not seeing the same movie as I am. Mila Kunis is a gifted comedian, but Justin Timberlake isn't a comic actor or a romantic lead. He's the male sidekick who doesn't get the girl. FwB is the truly simple, formulaic rom com, with a flash dance thrown in at the end just to make the romantic reunion that much more unbelievable. Try No Strings instead or see them both and make up your own mind.

ENJOYED. Glad I didn't read the reviews first.
I'm so surprised fans of this genre criticized this so badly. There are no "get the girl" car chase scenes, big wedding cakes destroyed, giant obvious pratfalls. And the characters are kind of fresh - the world of young doctors deep in hours of work and study. The crew and makers of a teen hit tv series. All the men aren't raging to get someone in bed. And some of the women are. So, it's got some nice little flips. It's actually a grown-up, funny relationship story. Ashton Kutcher is surprisingly mature and touching as a character. And Portman is a little edgier than usual...brought me back to the great "Anywhere But Here" with her and Susan Sarandon. We were truthfully just delighted to find something that we actually LAUGHED OUT LOUD more than a few times, and enjoyed all the way to the end. The performances gave it the edge that made it better than expected.

it is a rom-com
Okay, so it is a rom-com. Boy meets girl. Eventually sparks take place. Friction/conflict and break up ensues. Reconciliation eventually occurs. It's formulaic. But, there is a reason why formulas work. The twist here is the "no strings attached' concept. In the same mold as Friends with Benefits. Most of us, whether we admit it or not, like to see boy meets girl, with a happy ending. Alright, i do anyway. What's wrong with a happy ending? High drama it ain't. It is escapism, pure and simple. In todays world, why not?I initially thought it was so -so. After a couple of viewings, it has grown on me. Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher have amazing chemistry. They really get you to like these characters, and want them to make it. I also enjoyed the director's comments in the extras. I found them interesting and it enhanced my enjoyment in subsequent viewings.

Good Romantic Comedy. DVD Works, BluRay Doesn't.
Funny romantic comedy, good for couples, friends, basically anybody who wants a laugh. I’ve had issues with the BluRay since day one. I put the disc in my BluRay player & it doesn’t do anything, it looks like it’s loading but never does. I checked the disc, it's not scratched, I immediately tried other BluRay discs in my player & they worked, I even tried playing it on another BluRay player to no avail; clearly it's this one particular BluRay disc. The good news - it comes with both DVD & BluRay, so at least I’m not hooped, however, I would've preferred to watch the BluRay, obviously. The Movie: I enjoyed it, it was funny, clever & the chemistry between Natalie Portman & Ashton Kutcher was great. I much preferred this to “Friends with Benefits” for many different reasons, one being the comedy factor but mainly because I didn’t see the chemistry between Justin Timberlake & Mila Kunis, whereas I did see chemistry in “No Strings Attached”, maybe it’s just me.Overall: Besides the issues with the BluRay copy I received it’s good, I just won’t watch it in HD, at least it’s not some major flick with all sorts of great cinematography.

A decent evening's light entertainment
This is a very nice undemanding romcom, perfectly suitable to while away an evening when you are unimpressed by the available TV programs. Great art it isn't, but that's never what it was intended to be. If you're looking for an enjoyable, unthinking, "brain-in-neutral" type film after the style of "Friends with Benefits", this should fill the bill admirably.

Really, really liked it.
A funny film, with loads of good-looking people, doing rather stuff in a rather likeable manner, with flair & colour, and with proper acting (befitting a romantic sex-comedy). Haven't I listed enough reasons to justify five stars yet?You would love it, I'm sure.

Good
I began watching this film on TV and ever since wanted to watch the rest. However, when I got into it, it became a typical chick flick. I couldn't watch to the end so I stopped watching to save myself the clichéd trauma of chick flicks.
