Q: does the voltage tester work without batteries like the wiggy? live in phoenix and batteries die quick because of heat.

The old Wiggy is a voltage only tester this tester does voltage and continuity and requires 4 AAA batteries typical battery life is 100 hours.

Q: what is the impedance of this meter

As per the manufacturer of this meter the impedence value is listed as, low. If you're trying to measure impedence than this is not the meter to use. I'm an electrician and this meter is not meant for using when precise readouts are needed. You should be using a multi meter. Try not to burn down anything or fry yourself.

Q: Are replacement leads available for my "Wiggy" voltage tester?
