Works perfectly with a Chromebook
Even though my new Acer Chromebook has a Touchpad as well as a Touchscreen and Stylus, I still prefer the mouse interface. This AmazonBasics Wireless Mouse was so inexpensive that I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It's excellent. It is shaped much like Logitech's MX series mice -- the same large, ergonomically-sculpted shape which I find very comfortable (though not especially portable). I just plugged the receiver into the Chromebook and it worked!Battery life seems good. I've been using it for more than two weeks with 2 rechargeable AA's and I'm still getting 2 out of 3 LEDs on the battery indicator. It tracks predictably and remains connected. Buttons and scroll-wheel operate with the same "feel" as my Logitech mice.It is "Plug-and-Play" and does not come with any software. Instead, with whichever OS you're using, go your System Settings and make your adjustments for things like pointer speed there.I'm also using two different AmazonBasics Surge protectors and a USB Hub. I've found them all, as well as this Wireless Mouse, to be well-made, reliable and great value.

My Go To Mouse
I've been using these for years, honestly I gotta buy them in bulk at some point. All around fantastic mouse, I use it for gaming regularly, has the perfect amount of extra buttons that are easily accessible by thumb. Brand name batteries will catch you about 5 months of charge with very regular usage. Very comfortable for someone with wrist and hand issues.

Spectacular mouse.
The mouse fits so well around my hand and many key functions of my keyboard are on my mouse so i don't have to press it on my keyboard. The wireless function is super easy to set up and is super responsive. The sensitivity of it is a little more fast than id like but its still great. the quality is super amazing. it slides around great on my mouse pad. and the battery life is amazing.

Very poor range
I really want to like this mouse and I really don't like giving 1 star reviews but for me this device was not usable. Even with keeping the wireless receiver less than 1 foot away from the mouse I am plagued with continuous interruption / loss if signal. So if I'm moving my mouse across the screen the cursor might pause 4 or 5 times (because it loses signal for a few seconds). I click and it doesn't register. I scroll and it doesn't scroll. I've tried numerous batteries but it has been like this since purchase. Previously I had my desk set up where the receiver was 6 inches away (I arranged it purely for the sake of getting the mouse to work) from it at all times and it worked significantly better (not perfectly). I rearranged my whole desk to give me more space and so I moved where I had the receiver plugged in about a foot away and the issue became extremely pronounced and frustrating. With the functional range for me being 6 inches, I'd rather have a wired mouse. Unless my device is a fluke, I'd recommend not buying.Assuming it did work perfectly (like it almost did when my desk was setup differently) the scrolling is kinda slow and the back/forward buttons don't work on a Mac natively. I didn't have time or effort to spend to trying to get it to work to be fair. The mouse itself is extremely comfortable all things being said. So if it did work perfectly I'd probably give 3-4 stars but the low range / signal drop / whatever is just too frustrating and means it's an unusable product for me.

A Good Quality Efficient Product
Items like this are why I decided to live a Amazon Basics lifestyle. This was perfect. I've been using it for a while now and it's just a good product. The quality is excellent and hasn't failed me yet. There are some things that I do research on for comfort/aesthetic reasons and then just basic stuff I need around the house. This is one of those. Unless I need something specific, I enjoy Amazon products and this was perfect, in a good price range, and are just efficient/useful.

Not great, but not bad for the price
Seeing that this was the Amazon equivalent to the Logitec Performance MX full-size mouse (at half the price), I decided to give it a shot. First thing I noticed upon taking it out of the package was that the pad at the front end of the mouse was not as thick as the pad at the back end. Any time I clicked the buttons the mouse would rock on the uneven pads. Easy enough to fix by adding a few layers of scotch tape over the front pad to thicken it up, but disappointing nonetheless.Once that was fixed, I started using it. It's definitely ergonomic and comfortable to hold. It's also pretty smooth on larger motions, though it struggles a bit with small movements. I doubt it would be enough to bother the average user, but as someone who uses this mouse a lot for computer drafting (which requires small, precise movements) it can make things more difficult than they need to be. At least the extra buttons are well placed. If you're not the type to use them, you usually won't accidentally hit them. If you are the type to use them, they're close enough that you won't need to contort your hand to reach, and they feel pretty solid.I've also noticed that this mouse burns through batteries like nobody's business. It's now on its 3rd set of batteries in 5 months. At 2 batteries a pop, that's pretty bad. For reference, I treat this mouse pretty similar to the way I treat my Logitech M510 mouse and the M510 usually goes a year-plus without needing new batteries.Overall, the bells and whistles are well-designed but some of the basic functionality feels like it's been overlooked. It's a good deal for the price, but if you need a performance mouse this isn't quite it.
