Earth Science Pure Essentials Hair Conditioner - 12 Oz

I'm folding my reviews for Earth Science's "Pure Essentials" Fragrance Free Shampoo and Conditioner together. In a nutshell, if you're looking for a shampoo and a conditioner that don't stink, go no further: you've found them. My wife and I recently spent about 45 minutes going through the hair care aisle in Wal-Mart looking for something that didn't stink. We smelled the contents of every variety in that 25 foot long, 2 sided aisle to no avail. Everything either stank of bubble-gum, fruits, or perfume. I finally found these products here and gave them a try. The shampoo is completely odorless and the conditioner has only a very slight smell to it (it's so slight, it's hard to tell what it smells like, but it smells sort of "moist" (perhaps glycerin?)). Anyway, along with the smell, I was also worried about it's "sudsyness." No worry there, either. The shampoo works fine. I did have to wash my hair twice to get a full head of bubbles, but that could have been just because it was the first time I used it. My last worry is whether or not my hair will dry out. It'll take a few days for me to determine that. So, I'll revise this review when I figure it out. So far, though, I'm very pleased with these products and rate them at 5 stars out of 5. PS: I'm not allergic to the various frangrances manufacturers put into their products: I just can't stand the stench. So, I can't really say whether these products will be any good for those with severe allergies. But, if you are allergic, these are probably excellent products to try. UPDATE: I've been using these products for over a week now. First, it still takes two washes to get a full head of suds. It's not a big thing, but it is a bit more effort than with regular shampoo. Second, my fear of drying out my hair was unfounded. No problem there at all. Unfortunately, there IS a problem: with these products, it's much harder to run a brush/comb through my hair. It's not that there are tangles or snarls or anything like that. The brush just doesn't glide through like it used to. Since I have fairly short hair, it's not too bad for me. But, my wife, with her longer hair, had to go back to a regular shampoo/conditioner. Because of this, I'd drop my rating from 5 stars down to 4 stars if Amazon would let me.

This made me break out even though it's supposed to be acne safe. Bring Back the Ceramide Care Fragrance Free shampoo and conditioner!

I used to be someone who tests out different perfumes and personal care products with different fragrance. However, my husband is asthmatic and very sensative fragrances (so are his parents). When we started going out, I started looking into different products that are fragrance-free. And only when I started doing that did I realize that it is not very easy to find them! Many products labeled unscented often still have an odor (pleasant to me, but 'smelly' as far as my husband is concerned!). It always amazed me how he could tell that I am using a new lotion or shampoo even it has been hours since I have used the product. When I came across Earth Scence Fragrance-Free Shampoo and Conditioner at PCC, I decided to give them a try. And I am so happy with the result. My husband did not complain about the smell because there is none! Neither did my in-laws when they came to visit. And these products are made of natural ingredients and are of good quality so that my hair does not suffer. I have since then started using their other products. Some of them are not fragrance-free, but the scents are so mild that even though my husband could detect them, they do not bother him.

pleasant scent and works like a charm, no faults at all

This would be a 5- or 6-star product if it was actually fragrance free. When I first bought a 12 oz bottle a year or more ago, it was fragrance free and made my hair shine. I bought a gallon and was very disappointed to find it had perfume in it. I just bought this 12 oz size hoping it was a fluke but it now has a different perfume. So I'm left to wonder if it is being mixed in a system in which other, perfumed, products are made or if perfumes are being added? A wonderful conditioner! I'm sad to have to look for something else.

I am exquisitely sensitive to most shampoos and conditioners due to the about of fragrances and other chemicals added. This product is a God send. I have found it works best if used as a leave in conditioner. I have very fine hair and after showering I put about a pea to dime shaped amount into my wet hair and then work it in and comb and style. It leaves my hair soft and shiny. It help with dry ends with repeated use (I lived in the desert for several months and this was the only thing that helped). I strongly recommend this product to both those who are very sensitive and those who just want a fragrance free version of conditioner.

Good/bad news review: Good is that it is truly odorfree. Bad is that it does not condition my hair -- applied it after bath & shampoo and rubbed it in & rubbed it in & .... Eventually I gave up and it all washed out as a frothy scum in the tub. It might work for you though, and its not especially expensive, which is why I was able to pitch it without too much regret. What I do regret is that the review form forces me to give it at least 1 star when 0 is more accurate.

Scents give me severe headaches. The conditioner still has a scent so I cannot use it. Believe that conditioners stay in your hair after using even after rinsing. So I cannot use it. But the Earth Science shampoo is great and has no lasting scent!!!
