Kidde Worry-Free Smoke Alarm, 2 pk.

I purchased this 2 pack in January. Last week, one of the units malfunctioned. It went into full alarm for no reason and I couldn't get it to shut off. I had to destroy it to get it to turn off. I called the company and they are sending me a replacement.

I really believe in smoke detectors. They save lives every day, as well as limiting injuries. These have a special 10 year battery. so put one near each bedroom and where ever your family might fall asleep. If you have kids this is the best purchase you can make for their future.

Have a number of these bought on Amazon in 2022 (2 years ago). Sometimes they give false alarms. Normally easy to solve by depressing button on smoke detector face. I had one however that ran a false alarm in the middle of the night and would not turn off. Short of whacking it with a hammer, thus destroying it, I wrapped it in a bath towel and stuck it in my freezer to minimize the smoke alarm alert until I could resolve it next day. About 12 hours later, the smoke detector was still triggering an audible alert. Note, my freezer is set at -5 Degrees Below Zero (that's -20.56 degrees Celsius)(photo). Contacted company. On hold and after 30 min wait, company sending replacement in 7-10 days. Company stated to turn permanently off there is a switch on newer models.

This recent purchase replaced an existing one of the same which I was very pleased with.

This smoke detector periodically goes off for no reason at all. Save your money, look for a quality brand. Support is mostly useless and doesn't even respond at all some of the time, other times takes two weeks to respond.

Easy to install and won’t have to worry about them for another 10 years. Apparently these new ones somehow know not to start blaring in the middle of the night to let you know when they die. Might not seem like a big deal but if this magic works it would be much more pleasant then wandering through the house after being rudely awakened so I can climb up and down a ladder several times while half asleep.
