If you're giving birth in the UK, get yourself one of these because virtually no hospital has this device, and aside from medication, it's the only fail-safe way to distract you from the pain. My personal opinion of labour practices in this country, based on having given birth naturally twice here, is that women are left to suffer in vain. Take matters into your own hands and control your contraction pain so that you can save your strength for when you need to push.

Recommend checking it works before you go into labour (!) The boost & mode buttons were the wrong way round. One of the pads gave me an electric shock and ended up more painful in my lower back than the contractions.

We've bought the tens machine for the birth of my second baby. I haven't tried it yet (due date is nearly there...) but my husband did it for me and he found it amazing. He thinks I will love it. He did massage me for each contraction for our first child, so he kind of know what he is talking about...He also think we're going to use it in the future for muscle pains or backache.
