Zhiyou O Ring Clamp Cold Shoe Microphone Adapter for Zhiyun Smooth 4

There are some good reviews for this but no one has mentioned that when fitted ther is no angular adjustment, with the gimble pointing downwards towards the ground or Torch mode the microphone is facing the ground... what is the point of that, you can't even rotate it upwards. You could rotate the actual mic but then each time you move the gimble up or down you need to do it.... fine if this is set up on the tripod facing fixed forward but pointless for normal use outside tracking... moving mic up and down... !All it has done is scratched all the ring where it fits on a brand new gimble... thanks for that...Being returned unfortunetly, find some other way to mount the mic that tracks with the camera position pointing, why ZHYIUN didn't put a simple 1/4 cold thread on ntop of the phone clamp is a mystery... now off to try and cover the scratches it now has it...

Does what it says. Pay attention to get it into the right position and don't let the other ring on the Smooth 4 to unscrew - I thought my gimbal is defective while in fact the ring this one attaches to became unscrewed, affecting operation. Once I tightened it everything was back to normal. Otherwise very stable and I used it extensively on a big event for 20 straight days and it stayed put.

Got it so I could mount my light and rode microphone onto the gimbal and still use the tripod on the base. Very easy to fit and remove and completely unobtrusive once mounted. Just make sure you get it the right way up though! If it’s upside down then it’ll get in the way of the gimbal moving.
