The Real Deal. Earth-friendly fashion tougher than real life. The folks behind that uncanny, uncompromising hat that lent actor Woody Harrelson some of his uncommon cool in the 2009 Hollywood blockbuster Zombieland. Real Deal Brazil is a line of hats and bags handcrafted in a remote small town in equatorial Brazil from recycled canvas tarps that once stretched across the beds of cross-country cargo trucks. We use recycled tarps in an effort to cut down on the wasting of the world's resources - and yes, also because they happen to look really, really cool! The fabric at the heart of our one-of-a-kind product line has likely traveled from the Amazon out to São Paulo and back again, slogging through sudden deluges of blinding rain, and being baked and broiled in scalding heat, whipped by harsh salt winds, assaulted by road debris and sometimes even stamped upon in Portuguese with waterproof black ink. There's something very familiar about it, and something that's really not. Our original Real Deal Brazil recycled-tarp hat is sort of like a fedora, sort of like an Aussie Outback hat -- except after a full day spent atop Indiana Jones as he's being beaten and dragged to within an inch of his life. The individual life of each recycled truck tarp, along with the hats handcrafted assembly, means no two Tarp Hats can ever be alike. Your hat will not be identical to the pictures shown and will have it's own unique characteristics. That striking individuality helps explain how our original Real Deal Brazil recycled-tarp hat wound up as a key costuming prop in two major motion pictures, Zombieland and The Losers. Authentic, rugged and effortlessly cool -- find another head-topper that can top that!
