I like these spools they were easy to install and they work well as expected.

This item makes replacing the trimmer string a snap. You only have to pop the used cartridge out and replace it with a new one. Now, you have to take out a small guiding ring from the old one and place it on the new one, which can be a bit difficult, but nothing major. The only thing is that, for me, the string's gauge is too small and I ended up replacing the string with a bigger gauge.

I bought this to replace the original spool that came with this trimmer. They gave me one (oh how generous). Took one new spool out of the box and proceeded to start trimming. After about four minutes running time the spool refused to bring out any line. I then took the spool out and the line unwound from the spool. This left me with about 95% of that spool unusable because the remaining loose string cannot be rewound onto the spool. Now that's a great bargain at three bucks a piece. Hum, not really. I then went to the second spool at that one is still going. Must have been lucky.The worst part is that when you reload each spool you must put it inside of a sleeve which is a rather difficult process to get correctly. If you don't, the line will break and you must try again. If you are like me and repeat this process enough times, you will spend three times longer fixing the malfunction than actually getting any work done. By the way, I see that sleeve is already beginning to wear out too.Now comes the wastefulness of all of this. Amazon sends me the box of replacement string in a box about four times bigger than it has to be. If they ship it the original box it should not get damaged. And what about the spent plastic spools? Throw them away into the landfill I guess. The manual for the trimmer reads, "we strongly recommend to not string new line on the spool", in which the way the manual described, looks a little like rocket science to me anyways.If we Americans keep buying this Chinese stuff we will undoubtedly go broke and fill up our landfills.

Works very well

Pack of 6 is much cheaper than buying directly from SunJoe. However my trimmer has the issue that when you run it continuously for longer than say 10 seconds, it gets the cord inside the spool so hot that the string melts together. Most of the times it can be pulled apart using force though, but it requires taking the thing apart and messing with it. Not sure if that is an issue with the construction of the trimmer or the way the spools are made.
