Best Value Mandolin for Superior Vegetable Slicing
Since I was introduced to the Benriner Mandolin in 2003, I have owned three of them. I was taking a class at the ICE in NYC from a professional chef. She told us that this inexpensive Mandolin was superior for vegetable slicing to any other on the market. She was RIGHT. It is easy to use, light weight, and has excellent sharp slicing. You throw it in the dishwasher and it cleans up like a charm.

Works great, but can be annoying to clean and can't make thick slices
Very simple design, but has a lot of nooks and crannies that can get filled up fairly easily - which would be fine if it were dishwasher safe, but it's not. It's handwash only. The thickness of the cuts maxes out at a very thin slice, like a thick potato chip. For celery, onions, and mushrooms, I ended up just using a knife anyway since I couldn't get thick enough slices. The blade is indeed wicked sharp, beware of its efficiency while approaching your fingers.

Very very sharp. It works very well. It’s a little narrow for me. I wish it was an inch wider. I wish they provided me with an extra, and I don’t even know what you call it, but the thing you stick into the vegetable

I zoned out and accidentally cut part of my thumb off. Very clean cut, didn't even leave blood on the blade. Also very suitable for many types of fruits and veg. Do realize this is a smaller size mandoline so some items do require precutting for best results.

Recomiendo usar la mandolina, ya sea que con las cuchillas especiales o sin ellas, junto con un guante para cuchillos, el protector de plástico con el que viene no es nada ergonomico y se rasbalan un poco las verduras suaves. Un guante métalico de los que usan los carniceros es mejor, cortas más rápido las verduras y tienes los 10 dedos intactos. 10/10
