Good primer for Ben Franklin
The book presents an overview of this fascinating man's life. It does not go into too much depth, but enough that it presents an interesting story. It give brief glimpses into his remarkable life and accomplishments. If you are teaching your kids about the Founding Fathers of this nation, this is a great start. Each of the Founding Fathers were highly educated and complex men, not people you can easily toss one label on and that's it. Ben Franklin is no less than the rest. Only thing missing was his birthdate, so your child can get an idea how old he was at each stage. It mentions at 11 he invented swimming flippers (and year), but later, it does not give a sense of how old he was when he was working on the Declaration of Independence or how old he was when the Revolutionary War was over nor does it mention his language abilities nor his post war foreign relations (excluding the ladies, of course). Granted, this was a bio plus math intro book. but I would have liked to have seen even brief mentions of other parts of his life.

Great Book!!
This is a good book--My 8 year old daughter likes it and can read most of it herself. She likes that it has a few short chapters as well. Again, good book-- exceptionally fantastic.I recommend it!

Great illustrations and cute history lesson!
My 7-year old grandson loves this book! It started off a little slow, but the illustrations were enough to keep him interested until the story picked up. A great way to introduce history (and a little math!) at a young age.

Great Beginner Non-Fiction
My tween daughter is obsessed with the Broadway show, Hamilton. She's constantly singing it, which peaked my 5.5yo son's interest in learning more about the American Revolution and our Founding Fathers as well. My son's name is Benjamin, so he was especially interested in learning more about Franklin. He loves Suduko, too, so Magic Squares really intrigued him. He liked learning about all Ben Franklin's neat experiments and inventions; and I was thrilled to find a book that is at his independent/advanced reading level for him to engage in. The illustrations were cute and fun. We liked this book so much, I have purchased more books in this series (Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson & George Washington.)

perfect choice for elementary school reading
I love these series. But most important that my son does. I order 20+ books and he loves to read them (usually it is not that easy to make him read). I got mix of 2-3-4 levels for the second grader, second level is too easy, but it creates some fun and he reads them with pleasure. Love it, I would recommend it.
