The context of this specific book is beauty. It is inspirational.

I had never heard of either Brother Lawrence, or this very small booklet. But I saw it mentioned on the Christian Mysticism Reddit. I then went to Amazon and noticed that many, many other people had purchased it. It was very inexpensive, so I ordered a copy.You need to understand that I am a person who has spent the better part of his life trying to experience God – or to know who or whatever God is – through a variety of religions and spiritualities. Throughout the years, I learned all sorts of techniques, but I never got any closer to a true experience of God in my life. After reading this book, I now have a very simple and unpretentious way to try to experience God.I received the book about two months ago, and I must admit that I have yet to have a true and loving depth experience. However, there have been times when I began to feel that maybe either God was near or watching me. Unlike all the other techniques I know, this is a technique that I can practice anytime and at any anyplace. If nothing else, it simplifies my quest considerably.

This book is little, but full of practical, essential information for living the Christian life...in the presence of God.

Good book and insight on just how Bro. Lawrence lived, practicing the Presence of God daily. Be prepared, People didn’t speak in the 1600’s as they do today and that is when the book was written. I do recommend it! The content is good but expect the need to absorb the content in more than one read through.
