Hobart 770580 Face Shield Replacement Lens, Shaded

Got this for a mandalorian helmet build, absolutely worth it. The only downside was that I only got one visor due to poor placement on my part.

Got this for my mandalorian helmet and it worked perfectly! People can't see in when it's being worn but it has great visibility looking out. Only "bad" part of.it is it's difficult to cut into the required shape but that's a very minor thing

Like many others I didn’t use this face shield for welding I used it for cosplay. The material is easy to work with and shape with heat. Nobody will see your face underneath unless you’re in direct sunlight, at a con or on Halloween you’ll be fine. The thickness isn’t too much to where it’s hard to shape or cut. It doesn’t feel cheap and I think the price is fair for what you get.

It's no darker than looking through sunglasses, but somehow, no amount of direct sunlight shining in will show your face or eyes from the outside. I'm really not sure how it's possible. They're all I use for my Etsy orders. The offbrand ones work well too, but are much darker and harder to see out of. This is the one.

I assume most people, including me, do not use these welding visors for their intended purpose. They sure do work great for Mandalorian helmets though! One thing I always disliked about the majority of visors online is that they are dark green, while this one is black. You can't tell the difference when looking at them from outside the helmet, but when you're wearing it, the dark green ones turn your vision ENTIRELY green. These black ones are like wearing sunglasses. It's noticeably dark, but you can at least see colors.

Like some other people here, I purchased this face shield not for the intended purpose, but rather for costuming. I had used a few other manufacturer's face shields/visors in the past, however this Hobart 770580 is by far my favorite, and I will continue to use them going forward unless something comes out that is more scratch resistant. Shipping was fast and each shield came with a removable film on each side to protect the actual plastic from becoming blemished. The tint color is a very dark 'smoke' as opposed to dark green that many other, similar shields tend to have. It's flexible and easy to insert into a helmet if costuming is your hobby/passion as well. It's also easy to trim with sharp scissors. Durability of the visor is still in question for me as it is not very scratch resistant -- though still slightly better than others I've used. A few minor scratches appeared after minimal handling. One important question many people have is, "Can you see through it?" If you are using it to wear, yes, it's like very dark sunglasses. As for it being see-through from the outside, no -- for the purpose I used it for, no one should be able to see your eyes or any of your facial features unless light comes through underneath the helmet. All in all, I'd recommend this visor for similar usage. My only ding for not giving it 5 stars is the visor's lack of being scratch resistant.

What a lovely product ! Super easy to cut and it bends a ton without breaking so it will form to the shape of the inside of a helmet. Once installed it’s easy to see through from the inside but you cannot see facial features behind it so it’s perfect for a mandalorian helmet. Quality control droid has given this one five stars.

The product when first coming out of the box looks not nearly dark enough, dirty, scratched up, and horrible, however that’s only because of a layer of film on each side of the visor, the film on the front comes off easily but the back film doesn’t have any tab to remove it, to remove this I recommend getting some tape and sticking it down to then peeling it back up, strong enough tape will pull the film up too. Once removing both layers of film it might still appear to be not dark enough, don’t worry, as once it’s fully installed into your cosplay helmet it will be, and the only reason for its semi see through appearance is the amount of light in the room, once in your cosplay will become nearly impossible to see through because of the shadows cast by the helmet (assuming your making some kind of helmet with a visor), This product was great for its price, looks amazing, and has only 1 issue, that being the misleading film layer on the back that i didn’t know existed until i peeled some tape off it after cutting the visor down to size

Excellent Product! Cuts well to shape for mask. My son used it for his stormtrooper helmet. Looks great!

I purchased this to use for a visor on a 3D printed cosplay helmet (recommended by most who use for similar items) . While it suited my requirements, it is a little pricey for my needs. If you are using for similar use, be weary of holes at the top of visor and white writing.

Came damaged with lots of scratches. I can’t use it for my cosplay. Also has a slightly blue hue instead of black.

Like many people who buy this face shield, I used it for my visor in my Boba Fett helmet. It fit very nicely and is dark enough that people cannot see your eyes from the outside yet it is quite easy to see through from inside.
