Q: can this thermometer be calibrated?

Hi, The Escali Gourmet Digital Thermometers cannot be recalibrated, but they should not need to be as they are pre-calibrated from our factory. If you are experiencing troubles, the thermometer does have a 2 year warranty. Please visit our website for contact information to speak with a customer service representative about that.

Q: Is this dishwasher safe?

The DH1 thermometer is not dishwasher safe. If you are looking for one that is, I'd suggest the Escali DHP3 waterproof thermometer.

Q: Can this thermometer be placed inside the oven during an entire cook if the oven is at 325?

No, this thermometer should not stay in the oven while cooking

Q: Is this for deep oil as well?

Thank you for your question. The DH1-B Gourmet Thermometer is not designed to be fully submerged into oil, however, the stainless steel probe can be used to gather temperature readings up to 392˚F in deep fry oil.
