Less Comfortable than it should be
Although the peeler works well it is less comfortable than it could be in use. The minimal handle coupled with the swivel end guides aren't good.

Great peeler, handle could be a bit more comfortable
Have used this style of peeler for nearly 40 years, in my opinion nothing else comes close to matching its ease of use. The last one I bought from Amazon was a bit flimsy, and ended up going soft and bending at the point where the blade meets the handle.Bought this one as it was a bit more pricey so I hoped it would be stronger. It certainly seems more robust and the blade is very sharp, gliding through veg with ease.Only improvement would be that the handle is narrower than previous ones I've had (so needs a tighter squeeze to hold firm), the edges of the grip are a bit sharp and dig into your palm if you're not careful. As a temporary fix I've wrapped the handle in tape to reduce the impact and all is good.

There's only one Jonas (buy plasters while you're at it)!
When it comes to potato peelers there's Jonas and then there's the rest. There's no comparison. Mind you, potato peeler people tend to fall into either the Y-shaped, horizontal camp or the stick-shaped, vertical camp and are not likely to switch sides. This review is for the vertical peeler people. My previous Jonas is nearly 30 years old. In the last 5 - 6 years I've felt that it could do with being replaced with a sharper one as I've never figured out a method of sharpening it. I've bought a few "looky-likies" but none of them felt satisfactory, so until last week I was still using my old one. I'm happy to report that the peeler I received was the genuine article with the Jonas logo stamped on the handle and it felt every bit as well manufactured as the old one. Jonas have not been cutting corners. It's also very, very sharp. Having become used to needing to put some pressure behind the old peeler the first thing I did was slice off part of a finger tip triggering a flashback to how wary I was of the thing as a tot (we've always been a Jonas household), and how grown up I felt the first time I got through peeling the veg without spilling blood. Oh dear, I'm not selling it, am I? It really is a most marvelous peeler. Once you get the hang of it you'll never be satisfied with any other, but order a box of plasters along with it, fun ones if you wish to put your offspring to work, okay?PS, It seems from the reviews that a lot of sellers are not sending genuine Jonas peelers. I got mine from Mixles if that helps anyone out there.

Does the JOB!
At last a potato peeler that really works. Not cheap but good value.

Average Quality
Not the same quality as my original peeler of the same design.

Not as good
These peelers are apparently exactly the same as some Iβve had for years but needed to replace because the blades were wearing down. The new version is not as good: they appear identical but are slightly smaller so less comfortable to hold, and arenβt as sharp.
