Gets loose
These are great, but the elastic wears pretty quickly and is too big if you dont have trunks for legs. I managed to get them tight enough but these would be better if they had a backback type adjustable strap rather than elastic.

for the price
these are the most affordable I could get, and after all day of riding, I didn't ever feel them out of place or bothering me.I also used the long riding socks, so maybe that helped, but I could feel them as I grabbed the bike with my legs, and they were comfortable.I'm 6' 200lbs and these covered from above the knee to just inside the boot. I ride with Fox comps, which are normally tall, but there is complete coverage.haven't fallen on them yet, but if they protect me from one crash, they're worth it.they work great on branches, rock deflection, and bumping into tailgates or hitches just fine.the clips are plastic with metal pins that slide into place, and help up well sofar.these might help with over-extension too, as the guards have knee stops, but I don't know the strength on the plastic or pivot points. (don't want to test it out either). just be careful, and these will protect from a lot. It's heavy plastic, and foam insets, so aside from buying super expensive- uber-gaurds, these will work great for the novice-intermediate rider.

Great for the price - Looks good and offers good protection.
They are what they are. My really only complaint is that the bottom is very narrow and doesn’t fit my full height riding boots very well. I’d have like to see them a bid wider in the lower section, but it’s fine. I may try to to flatten them out to fit my boots better. The price is affordable. I like them for my use. (Post apocalypse costume part). Walking around and doing work in them (to break the in) I notice That they tend to slide down. Not an issue if your on a bike and riding. I also noticed that as they are the hinges at the knee piece tend to pop out if you are working on the ground and moving around. I fixed it using some para cord and electrical wrap; took me all of 10 minutes. I also spayed bed liner on them and beat them up a bit for a used look (remember part of a costume) but I’d wear them on overland adventures. Good buy for the money if you’re willing to put in a touch or two to make them a bit tougher, but it’s not really needed.

They look cool, that's about it
I liked the design and idea of these guards, but was disappointed with the product. I'm 5'8" with skinny legs, and these are still too small. The shin guard plastic is curved too steeply, so they don't really conform to my leg well. However the straps are good and secure them nicely. The hinged knee joint seemed nice, but the plastic is pretty cheap and the hinges are just rivets, so I can see them breaking pretty quickly. When your knee is bent the knee cover is only in contact with the hinge-rivets, and all of the force of impact will be transferred to those rivets. I did a few tests where I'd drop to my knees in them, they are not very comfortable and much of the impact was still transferred to my knees. If you consider the price and that they are intended fro motorcycling, this is a "you get what you paid for" situation. Most good bike pads are very expensive, these are not. I would not trust them to protect me in a bike accident. I wanted them to replace my old pads for street hockey, these will not work for that. The padding is in the front and does not wrap around much, leaving the rest of my leg exposed.they also click when you walk, which gets annoying after a while.5 Stars: good straps, good price, shipped quickly-2 stars: cheap, flimsy construction. Unlikely to provide much protection. Likely to break at the knee hinge rivets-1 star: I am not a big guy and these are too small for me-1 star: generally uncomfortable and poorly fitting, plus the clicking sound while walking drives me crazy1 Star total

Size matters
There is no ordering by size, so a bit tight

The best
I bought these before. I fell off my electric unicycle doing 30. Dropped to my knees when I did. Slid like I should. No major injuries. Repurchased immediately.Very comfortable and is perfect for my wheel gear

Great value
I use these for street riding when I am on surface streets or short freeway rides. When I am going over 100mph in frequent bursts I use real leathers. I put 15,000 miles on my last pair of shin/knee protectors but they finally gave out and I gave these a try. These hinge at the right spots and have good knee comfort. The plastic is durable and the locking mechanism seems like it will hold. Overall I think these are a good deal
