An 8' net should spread to 16' in diameter which I couldn't manage in the lawn pulling it out. Maybe it was when they made it, but with the shaping, it is no longer a full 8' radius. The 3/8 inch net is good for most bait in fresh and coastal fishing. This one is the smallest 8' net I've ever used. Decent amount of lead weights so it sinks quickly. Line pulls smoothly through the horn. So far, it has cleaned and held up well.
