I've held off reviewing this as a lot of the reviews mention poor battery life but give no idea of how long they lasted! I bought some cheap batteries and installed them on the 27th of August, they ran out on the 13th of November so just over 2.5 months. This is our main bin so gets activated at least 10 times a day, for a sensor running 24/7 I don't think the battery life is that bad at all. Reasonable capacity, suits smaller households. The hoop inside holds the bin liner inside the bin which is handy with cats that love to shred anything plastic. The bin liner isn't visible on the outside. The price was £47.99 so not cheap but less than replacing whole bin. **Q: Does anyone know what happens if the lid doesn't have quite enough clearance? Does it close again, break, etc? We have 86cm** A: Mine is under a standard height worktop so doesn’t have enough clearance. It needs to be about level with the width Of the worktop. Although it does hit the underneath of the worktop I’ve had it a few months and it works fine and closes as it should do. I did find that if it was pushed too far back it wouldn’t work, I thought it was broken but when I moved it flush with the width of the worktop it started working again.
