CRAFTERS - These are perfect for making DIY coasters !!!
These work great for making and embellishing DIY coasters.I purchased these as an alternative to the thicker, more expensive unfinished wood in the same shape. For just a few dollars more, I got **100** of these coasters for $15.99, as opposed to 24 wood pieces for $12.99.I've seen several questions on the Q&A section, asking whether you can use Mod Podge on these coasters. The answer is ... YES! YES! YES! I covered each side of the coaster with decorative cardstock by using Mod Podge as an adhesive. It worked beautifully. I also dabbed acrylic paint around the edges, and had no problem with that. Then I applied two more coats of Mod Podge to each side of the coaster. DONE! As you can see in the photo, the coasters turned out GREAT! They are hard and sturdy ... so much so that when you tap your fingernail on them, you can hear the "click" of your fingernail!I'm providing a list of pro's and con's below. Please remember that my list below is based on the way that I use these coasters. If you are using them in a different way, then my list may not apply to you.PRO'S:** Great price!** Nice and sturdy** Accepts Mod Podge well** Uniform shape and size (I didn't find this to be true with the wood alternatives)** Don't warpCON'S:** None! I'd buy them again in a heartbeat for my DIY coasters!I love writing reviews like this! I'm VERY HAPPY with this product! Thanks for reading.

I wanted to love these but...
These were purchased to replace some that I purchased in 2013, those were sold as medium weight and I used them for zentangle practice. I loved them (Qty 50 Plain White Square Coasters https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009C0E8NE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_h4LRzb79VJQBJ). These not so much. I don't do so much of the zentangle, but like to scribble some decoration with a sharpie. The 2013 purchase was easy to work with, the zentangles came out great, when used as coasters, they did the job, I was able to flip them over and reuse them practically indefinitely. I bought these because the price is so much better; not cheap, but better; you get twice as many for a couple of dollars less, and the reviews were favorable. I lead an occasional senior/dementia craft class and thought they might take to decorating coasters. While working up a few samples I was completely underwhelmed. The thickness isn't noticeably thicker than my previous purchase (see photo), but what is noticeable is the roughness, the pens, both sharpies and zentangle pens just dragged, in an uncomfortable way, it was as though the nib was gouging the paper fibers. It was like writing on an egg carton. There was nothing pretty about my efforts. As to the functionality of the coaster, it is indeed absorbent, a plus, but perhaps too much so. A little bit of sweat from a cold drink can reduced one to a pile of paper mâché. The first one was no match for a large glass of iced tea. It's weirdly stiff, like, it breaks weird...like acoustical ceiling tiles...I can't, with good conscience recommend these, I need them for a class in two days so I won't be sending them back, but I wouldn't purchase them again. With Prime, there was no delivery issues, I had no interactions with the seller.

GOOD FOR ONE TIME USE
I was a professional bartender for 30 years; a coaster is not new to me. There is no 'circle' on these coasters and for the price and quantity...they are just fine. One time use for sure. I would order these again. But I would hope that the absorbent middle is present.

Great coasters for the vaue!
When there's friends over at the house, we usually sit back and have a few drinks to relax. Setting them on these coasters is great because the water from the cup that leaks doesn't land on the table and ruin the table cloth and or wood. I also use these not onlt for drinks, but anything water soluable in case it leaves a ring around the surface its on. Sure, you can use a paper napkin or paper towel, fold it and put your drink on that. But, these coasters do a better job which I like. Skeptical about this purchase, read the reviews and product description first.

Versatile but Imperfect Heavyweight Paper Coasters
These paper coasters are decent but not perfect. They're heavyweight, but many of the edges are slightly peeling, or they have tiny pieces sticking out from the larger "puzzle" they were torn apart from. These coasters are great for various arts and crafts projects, but for gifts and customer products, they're slightly imperfect. I like that they're biodegradable and easy to work with. They're thick, versatile, absorbent and great for classrooms, parties and DIY projects. Overall, these are decent heavyweight cardstock squares.

Stops my gate from rattling in the wind
Good for drawing and painting little pictures. Stops my side yard gate from rattling in the wind. And you can use it as a coaster, as well.

Great as coasters!
I am very obsessive about using coasters under beverages, no matter what. Some of my friends and family, less so. I bought these for a party and left them around all the surfaces I could think of, plus a stack of extras. Most guests took the hint. They do get rings on them (better them than the furniture) so after one use they can be turned over and the other side, then tossed. I am not particularly crafty, but I think these would probably be great for decorating and a number of other uses.

Damages easily
A few of them were torn when they arrived. Overall a decent product for the price and purpose.
