These are really good reeds

Love Filed Reeds
These reeds give excellent tones. Harder to use than unfiled but for moderate and advanced players they are excellent reeds. Tone is full and not quite as bright as unfiled but great for classical and smoother types of jazz.

Bb Clarinet 2.5 Ease and Enjoyment
I'm an adult beginner (Book 2) Bb Clarinet player. My clarinet came with two 2.0 Rico reeds. One worked well but the other was hard to blow and hit high notes. I tried the Suewio 2.5 but still most in the box were hard to blow and I had difficulty crossing the break . I got the 3 pack of D'Addario 2.5 reeds-WHAT A POSSITIVE DIFFERENCE!! All three were good. I hope that in the future the 10 count box will be available in the 2.5...maybe by then I'll need a 3!

Surprisingly Excellent Reed for Low Price
The Rico Royal is a surprisingly good reed for the price. While Vandoren is the industry standard for reeds the Rico Royal has a nice bright sound with a high quality count on the reeds in the box. Almost all of them were playable after some shaping and approximately four or five were extremely playable right out of the box. I had to work much more with my Vandorens to get the instant high quality playability from them.Word of note though. This is a fairly hard reed and is perhaps more suitable for players with a more closed mouthpiece, which means the gap between the reed and the face of the mouthpiece is narrow. Those with a wider gap may prefer either a softer reed or perhaps a different brand.

Every reed in the box was great!
I used to be a Vandoren user solely. I've experimented with other, less-expensive brands in the past, and I settled on the Vandoren, because the quality was incredible. However, the price was ridiculous, and I was sick of buying a box of 10 reeds and only having 2-3 be good quality reeds. I needed a good, cheap box of Eb reeds for an upcoming concert, and I wasn't planning on sticking with the instrument too long (I'm primarily a Bb player), so I decided to settle. Yes, settling is wrong and shouldn't be encouraged, but I didn't want to shell out too much money for a box of reeds for a few rehearsals and one concert. I decided to do a little research. I've read a few reviews for the Rico Royal (I've used Rico in the past and absolutely hated it, so there were some bitter feelings there), and I decided to try it. It was only temporary, right?I got the box of reeds, and the first reed I picked was amazing! The quality of sound was great, and what are the odds of the first reed working so well? I tried another with the same results. And another, and another! Every reed in the box worked well, and I didn't have to throw a single one out! So, when it was time to reorder reeds for my Bb, I ordered the Rico Royal. Again, every reed in the box worked very well. I'll be sticking with these!

Great Reeds
I’m a band teacher, and my son plays clarinet. He’s a 6th grader. We’ve tried all the reeds out there, and he likes these the best. I know most people prefer Vandoren, and I don’t mind Vandoren, myself; but honestly, my kid does sound better on the Royals…..
