Why did you choose this product over others?: Fitted to a double door shed, one on each door due to the convenient reversible long throw option. A very tidy appearance on the outside of the doors, convenient thumb turn to lock doors from the inside. Straightforward to fit and secures the doors nicely. The supplied drill bits are a bonus and worked well. As shed doors aren’t very thick, although mine were 28mm log lap, a piece of wood for packing (plywood, pine .. whatever you have) needs to be added to the inside of the shed doors to ensure the external part of the lock finishes tidily outside the shed. Also when sizing that piece of wood watch where the lock fittings attach to, or go through it; don’t get that wrong like me and put screws through the padding piece which get in the way!!! Use the supplied template to check. They are a very long throw as described and this provides a secure lock across the 2 doors. Or very secure if you double up the locks at different heights on the doors. BTW My shed has extra height doors - 2 metres - so that is why I doubled up.

Lovely product. Easy to fit, comes with the drill bits and screwdriver bit required to install. Nice smooth action once fitted. Very robust as well. Would definitely buy again and recommend

Purchased this GateMate Long Throw Gate Lock for added safety and security on my outside gate. I initially ordered the wrong size (70mm) but was able to return it with no issues and received a prompt refund. I reordered the correct size (50mm), and it fits perfectly. The product is exactly as described, sturdy, and well-made. Works smoothly and gives peace of mind. Highly recommend!

I have to start by saying that this is a very sturdy lock. It is easy to fit, and is supplied with a self adhesive template to stick to the gate/door to indicate where all the holes need to be drilled. It comes with both the spade bit, a hss drill bit and the screw head bit that are required so no hunting around for the correct tools. I fitted it in about 20 minutes with a cordless drill. The lock opens smoothly and easily once installed. The only thing I could criticise is that the bolt can be moved without turning the key or the thumb turn knob. My concern is that if the door rattles in the wind the bolt will vibrate itself open. Would have thought that this could have been mitigated at the design stage by having to push in the key or the thumb turn knob to engage the cog otherwise the bolt is locked. Will need to see what happens in the winter.

The product looks well built and looks to be well finished and that's all. The key operates the euro profile cylinder on the front of the gate as expected. However, it is possible to to just simply reach over the gate and open the lock by sliding the bolt freely and easily to open the lock mechanism. Basically the locking bolt is not deadlocked in position with the key. In my opinion, by definition this renders the "lock" useless and really a lock at all. It is merely a bolt operated by a key that gives no more protection than a latch bolt fitted on a gate. Would be thieves can reach over a gate and open both in the same way. After challenging the UK supplier direct they say that this is how the lock is designed to work? Unbelievable really. Don't waste your money. Get a cheap latch bolt instead because this offers the same level of security.

I don't usually write Amazon reviews, but I feel compelled to in this case. The product was about twice as expensive as others, but soooo glad I bought it. Quality product with both drill bits and screwdriver bit included, the template for drilling was also self-adhesive (convenient) and was for both left and right hanging. Attention to detail and quality, and just ease of use ... brilliant :-)

Na het plaatsen van een andere tuinpoort zochten we een stevig en makkelijk te gebruiken slot. Na diverse reviews op verschillende sites en YT, viel de keuze op dit slot. Met de bijgeleverde mal is het plaatsen heel gemakkelijk. Bijgeleverde schroeven zijn lang en van rvs. Bouwkwaliteit is prima en slotbout ongeveer 15mm in het vierkant. Wordt geleverd met 5 sleutels, dus ruim voldoende. Aan te bevelen slot.
