Using after knee surgery
This compression device comes with a left and right leg wrap. We are using it after my husband's knee surgery to promote blood flow and reduce the chance of blood clots.

Poor quality
I recently had a hip replacement and purchased these to help prevent a DVT during recovery. The heavy box where the inflator mechanism is located makes it nearly impossible to wear them while doing any PT activities which are frequent after a hip replacement. It is difficult to get them around your legs properly and they loosen constantly. Now one of the boxes is coming loose from the fabric, which is an extremely flimsy flannel type, possibly a microfiber. Perhaps these are ideal for a bed bound post surgical patient, but for anyone with a joint replacement which necessitates frequent movement, they are absolute junk for a $200 expense!

Works great!
I have been using this product for 9 months. Had a double knee replacement so I used for several months daily. I currently use them when traveling by car or plane. They are amazing. I have not had any issues with Velcro. The engine noise on the plane drowns out the noise of cuffs. I was given these after surgery by surgeon, so I didn’t have to pay for them. I will definitely replace them when they fail. I can currently use them for over 6 hours before needing to recharge.

Overpriced.
They do the job--I guess. I didn't get a blood clot after my surgery, but who knows if these things contributed to that outcome or not. At any rate, Venapro should be absolutely ashamed of what they charge for them. Maybe they'll last a long time, but I doubt it. Compared to other types of things I can buy for $300--large appliances, bikes, furniture, power tools--these are a real ripoff. It's not like there's a lot of delicate engineering going on here. I got mine used, but even at almost 50% of retail, they were still ridiculously over priced. They work for a few hours before you have to recharge them, and I'm guessing the Velcro won't last terribly long. The fabric is also pretty flimsy.

Purchased new received used.
I recieved a defective unit so I return and receive a new one. The second one was a used item and the power cord I received for the unit belonged to a Shark Vacuum. Poor quality control.

It's a good product, but there's a few kinks
Avoid at all cost My mom used these following a left hip replacement and they were given to her at her doctors office. Her experience was really quite different than the other one-star review here, so I'm going to write my review to match the topics in his bullets In the same format for comparison purposes. 1. Price - I can't speak to that because it was covered by her Medicare/Humana program. 2. Velcro durability - in the 10-12 days she used them, we didn't have any problems with them coming undone. It did take some work in the beginning to get the hang of how to wrap them properly so the Velcro would be firmly attached. Should they redesign these, I would highly recommend changing the design to allow for more Velcro adhesion. The top Velcro (the clingy part) is shaped similar to a knee brace in that it has three separate pull tabs that you grab and stretch across the leg and then press onto the bottom Velcro (the fuzzy part). If not done properly, this can come undone very easily whenever the patient moves or flexes the area. 3. I actually didn't find them to be very loud. When I was down near them fiddling with the bandage and whatnot and it was right next to my ear, yes, it was pretty noisy; but when I asked my mom about it she said that when she was watching TV while resting in bed they didn't interfere with her ability to hear. 4. At the end of the 10-12 day period that she used the VenaPro DVT, all of the hardware was still in decent shape. All of the electronics and charging equipment was still operating perfectly and the actual pumping fuction was still performing just as well as it was on day one. After so much use I'd half expected one of the internal air bags to have ruptured or sprung a small leak, but there were no signs of any of that. The Velcro itself was actually all still in great shape. Over time the clingy part had picked up a couple little bits of string and and errant cat hair or two, but those were easy to remove by hand. All of the material was also in really good shape, especially for something that had been worn several hours per day nearly very day for over a week. Even after all of the unwrapping and rewrapping and the stress on the material of both pulling it tight to Velcro it in place and the constant electronic compression, all of the stitching that I could see seemed to be intact. Naturally the light blue nylon material did have a little bit of dirtiness to it, but a couple passes with a fresh Clorox Wipe made it good as new. Considering how different my mom's experience (and mine as her temporary nurse) was with the VenaPro DVT, I'm wondering if the version we got was maybe a newer generation or something to that effect. I compared the box and everything to the pictures and they match exactly from what I can see, but from what I've read this product hasn't been around too terribly long, so maybe they've managed to establish some better quality control into their construction process. That's all pure conjecture on my last part, but you never know! Bottom line: the VenaPro DVT that was prescribed for my mom after her hip replacement worked tremendously well for the purposes it was designed for. I knocked off a star because the design of the Velcro makes it a bit difficult to get it attached to the leg in a good solid way that doesn't pop off once the motor kicks in and the battery life kinda sucks. But, once you establish a routine that you can stick to, it's smooth sailing.
