Great inexpensive light meter
My Dad originally gave me a Sekonic l-398 from his military career. it says ASA instead of ISO, which tells you how old it is. Well I needed something a little more current as I do Photography with strobes and I also do Videography with my GH5. I needed something that fit that bill. This thing works great for that. It has three different Modes Photo/hd cini/cini. I have used all three with the GH5. This is just one of those tools that you need to have if you do either one of those tasks. I suggest a color checker of some sort as well. I literally use this on every shoot. Don't expect your camera to give you the best reflective metering. Incident metering is where it's at.

Good basic light meter
Light meter works well and will serve all ambient (incident and reflected) and flash light (cordless and cord) needs. There is also an HD Cine mode for use with DSLR and digital video cameras. A soft case and meter strap are included. My only concern is durability, the plastic is thin, this is not the same quality of the Sekonic meters of 30-40 years ago. I will be extra careful with this but it definitely performs.

Easy to use
This is my first light meter so I am still working with it and learning how to use it best. I did a photo shoot and found it to be very accurate then and hope to use it more in the future.

Excellent and easy to use Light Meter.
This is my first Light Meter. It’s an excellent light meter for an amateur photographer like myself. It’s well made and easy to learn to use. When I get ready to upgrade to a more professional meter, I’ll definitely purchase it from Sekonic. Product is great and shipping was fast.

Handy and Accurate
I have only had a couple occasions to use the Sekonic L-308X-U meter. I found it to be accurate and superb for validating exposures. My only issue is the manual is extremely poorly written. All else is great and as advertised.
