Way nicer than I ever imagined!! Iโll plant an herb garden right on my deck!!
I wanted this planter so I could have an herb garden right outside my kitchen door. This will work perfectly!! First Iโll start with packaging. NO styrofoam!! All packaging is cardboard and totally recyclable so thatโs a huge plus. Everything was packed so well that nothing was scratched or damaged in transit. Next is assembly. It took me 1 hour and 29 minutes. If I do a second one, it will be much faster. One reason is because I rushed ahead and tightened things I shouldnโt have. If you do that, you will fight every step of the way. So follow the directions to the letter! I will say forget about that little Allen wrench thing they send with the fasteners and get yourself a 5/32 Allen head bit and use a drill. Youโll be here all day using an Allen wrench. Itโs probably actually a metric size but 5/32โ worked great. You can also save time if youโve got a Phillips bit for your drill. Anyway they send the right amount of fasteners, plus one extra of each which is nice if you happen to drop one and canโt find it. Assembly would be much faster with a second person to help but itโs not necessary. And this part is bigโฆ.all holes line up as they are supposed to. If they donโt? Well itโs probably because you tightened things that you were not supposed to until the end. Loosen them back up and things line up perfectly!! And now Iโll address quality. This bed is first rate!!! The color is perfect, the finish is flawless. Itโs very well design and very sturdy. The casters are very heavy duty and wide. Iโve got every confidence the this bed can be rolled around outdoors on turf, patio or hard ground easily. There are no drainage holes in the galvanized bottom. I know it will drain out through the edges where the sides meet the bottom but Iโd rather have a more controlled drainage so Iโm going to seal the inner seams with silicone and drill drainage holes directly in the bottom. Iโll add some tubing or pipe to the drainage holes and direct excess water off of my deck. Out in the yard this wouldnโt matter but I donโt want drainage on the deck. And on that note, I will add some helpful advise. The drainage holes I add will be fairly large but covered with course window screen. Over the screen Iโll add some course perlite or pea gravel. This way I get better drainage and donโt lose my potting mix! So if you want a very nice quality raised bed, I am confidant recommending this one for you. I am just so happy with it!!

Perfect garden bed!
These garden beds are very sturdy. They are not wobbly and very stable. There is plenty of room for lots of plants. The wheels make it very versatile and easy to relocate. The directions were very easy to follow and made assembly quick. I think they were a little high in price, but a good value because of the quality.

Excellent Quality with Thoughtful Design - Highly Recommended!
I've been consistently impressed with Vego garden products, and this elevated garden bed continues that trend. After assembling and testing this 2'x4' raised bed, I'm thoroughly satisfied with both the quality and functionality. OUTSTANDING PACKAINGE AND SHIPPING Vego truly excels at packaging their products for shipping. Everything arrived in perfect condition, with thoughtful protection that prevented any damage during transit. The attention to detail in their packaging reflects the same care they put into their products. DIMENSIONS AND FIT The actual dimensions are slightly smaller than advertised (about 1/4" to 1/2" shorter in both length and width), but this is actually a benefit rather than a drawback. The reduced size provides valuable wiggle room when positioning the bed in tight spaces, making installation much more forgiving. CONSTRUCTION QUALITY The coating quality is excellent on both the interior and exterior panels. I was surprised to find that the bottom panels are galvanized rather than fully coated like the sides, but this doesn't impact performance in any way - just an interesting design choice that likely keeps costs reasonable while maintaining durability where it matters most. ASSEMBLY EXPERIENCE Assembly presents an interesting paradox: it's simultaneously easy and challenging. The simple part comes from Vego's exceptional labeling system - every single part is clearly marked, making the assembly process absolutely foolproof in terms of knowing what goes where. The challenging aspect was aligning where a few pieces come together. I highly recommend an extra set of hand to hold parts while securing the bolts and nuts. STORAGE AND DRAINAGE FEATURES The bottom storage rack is a fantastic feature for organizing watering cans and other gardening supplies. However, be prepared for stored items to get wet, as the galvanized floor is designed to drain excess water from the garden above. This drainage system works exactly as intended, so just plan accordingly for what you store underneath. OVERALL PERFORMANCE I'm incredibly happy with this purchase and continue to be impressed with Vego's product line. The garden feels solid and reliable. I'm currently using it to grow eight different varieties of carrots for the season, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this elevated design performs throughout the growing cycle. BOTTOM LINE This elevated garden bed delivers excellent value with thoughtful engineering and quality construction. The minor dimensional differences and galvanized bottom are non-issues that don't detract from the overall excellent performance. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a durable, well-designed elevated gardening solution.

You get what you pay for with these solid carts
I almost cheaped out and bought something less substantial, and I'm glad I invested in these. I ended up with 3, 2x4' carts and a 2x2' small tree planter, after my daughter stole one of the carts for flowers and I had to add a third. Now knowing how many I needed, I sort of wish I had gotten 2, 2x6' carts to save money, but that's ok. 2x4' really is a fairly big growing area. Love how flexible it is to roll these around to catch the best sun or give overflowing vines some room. I have one with tomato and pepper plants, one that I've started squash and bok choy seeds in, and my daughter's decorative cart looks beautiful full of flowers with ivy spilling over the sides. I spray painted my strawberry tower on wheels to match the "modern gray" color more or less. Sort of wish I had gotten the beautiful green color, but I am not sure what color furniture I'm going to do on this patio yet so figured gray was the most neutral option. These come together pretty easily, with NO STYROFOAM PACKAGING -- amazing! -- and are super solid. Great wheels. Wheels ship separately and slower which made me wait impatiently to fill my beds after assembly, so that I wouldn't have to lift them fully loaded. I got a series of 10' soaker hoses that I've draped through each bed which I'm setting up on a timer, so I can unscrew the hoses to move things around if needed, or screw them all together and have a self-watering garden. In the winter when freezes are coming, I will be able to roll them in tight and throw string lights and sheets over them all together to keep my plants going, rather than bringing in dozens of separate pots as I had been doing. Super excited about these!

Assembly of the Raised Garden Bed
Garden bed looks good once put together. Assembly was extremely difficult. Took me 5 hours with a lot of trial and error. The parts were not clearly marked and the included instructions were not very easy to follow. When assembling do not tighten down the screws, nuts and bolts until the last step of putting in the metal bed and bottom racks. This was a lesson learned. In my assembly, I didn't have any missing parts and the overall product was free of defects. The metal bed does not have drainage holes. Definitely do not place the garden bed over cement or pavers. The way the garden bed is constructed, I'm assuming there is going to be soil leakage which could cause staining. We plan on using potted plants with drip trays.

Great Garden Bed
Love the look of these beds, they add a lot of character to my front deck and I am excited to see my flowers fill out! A heavy duty bed, easy to put together and I think a little spendy but I know these will last for a while!

Attractive and sturdy
Iโve been using the Vego Garden Elevated Bed for a few weeks now, and it has truly enhanced my gardening experience. The dimensions of 2 feet by 4 feet make it a versatile size for my herbs garden and fits well on my porch. The quality of the Bed was a pleasant surprise as it was constructed with sturdy, weather-resistant materials that can withstand outdoor conditions well and the craftsmanship is solid with smooth edges and secure joints to prevent getting scratched from sharp edges. The height of the bed is particularly comfortable for those of us that are seniors, without bending too much, reducing back strain. Setting up the bed was fairly simple with clear instructions and all necessary hardware. It took about 30-45 minutes to assemble with basic tools. The pre-drilled holes and straightforward design made the process smooth. My 9 yr old was even able to help put the bed together! This is my first Vego Garden but it won't be my last as I intend to add several more.
