I bought this on a whim while exploring several different types of devices that combine inertia and vibration. This beats them all. It is terrific for rehabilitation, fast-twitch muscle training, and speed of striking for martial arts.First, more so than other products, the load clearly scales with your level of effort, and you can develop a surprisingly high load from these things.Second, this is by far the most flexible in the number of exercises you can perform for shoulder and arm stability.Third, the gains are easily perceivable, after only a month there is a significant spring to my muscles and it has been very good for shoulder rehabilitation and stability.Fourth, these are so lightweight and portable, they are excellent for travel.As someone who has many decades of interest in traditional (weight lifting, calisthenics, pilates) and martial arts, this is truly a different form of training. It really targets your elastic, plyometric and fast-twitch muscle response and coordination. It definitely improves punching speed and elasticity. The pump is quite impressive and unexpected. I could see this as very helpful for throwing and racket sports. Definitely take your first week slow. It might seem like it is a laughable load, but I found that being too enthusiastic before I had adequately conditioned myself was a mistake. A beginner could easily give themselves tennis elbow doing back-fists for example. I ended up buying two so that I can simultaneously train with both arms. For added benefit, do your exercises on a wobble board. Because of their lightweight, you can basically target almost any muscle group in your shoulders and arms--between flapping and punching movements you can hit everything in the shoulder girdle, rotator cuff, biceps, triceps, chest, back. Since it scales so well with your input effort, you can do small gentle conditioning or rehabilitation movements or tire yourself out from outright exertion. It is not a substitute for weight training, but it's a completely different compliment, where you are doing a very large number of rapid contractions in a short time using fast-twitch and plyometric response. It seems to have made my calisthenics more stable, my punching more fluid, and my lifting more smooth.

Cheap material and a waste of time. You would get better results in boxing with rubber tubing.
