I got this for my 4 year old daughter as purchased a more expensive one for my 9 year old son, knowing she would want to test his. This was great for her. not very sturdy but ideal for little hands. Focus was surprisingly good, despite some other reviews. you just have to keep testing it until u get the focus.

Very lightweight plastic but does work ok

I bought this for my 8yr old granddaughter for her birthday. She has loved it! The 3 different levels of magnification work real well and it’s stood up to a bit of rough handling.The only downside is that the items can only be very slim, there is not room beneath for it to have bigger subjects.

Good value for money, doesn't feel as sturdy as some we have purchased but fine for kids to take outside etc.

Very lightweight plastic. Very hard to focus. I think mine is faulty as the eyepiece doesn't move up and down evenly or easily. The slides are only plastic and they expect you to put a sticker over the specimen so you see are bubble all around it, glass slides would be so much better. We gave up after a couple of attempts to see things through it. Reading up online, it seems the light is probably too bright. We covered it over with white paper for a more diffused light and it was better but still not really in focus. This is bad enough to put kids off science. I would not recommend.
