First of all, Bauerfiend makes the best braces available, hands down. The design has German engineering and construction with medical insight. Can't get better than that. Materials are top notch. With every Bauerfeind brace I have worn, for sacral iliac, lumbar, and knee issues, both my physical therapist and my appropriate surgeons or doctors have been impressed. I had one surgeon's office come in with their brace, see my Bauerfeind, and tell me that mine was better than what they were going to offer me. Second HUGE important piece of information: MUST USE THE SIZING CHART ON THE BAUERFEIND WEBSITE to find your fit. Then it will fit well and one won't need to exchange their purchase. The product size listed on the Amazon page is for the package dimensions, NOT the product dimensions. I don't understand why there is this disservice to buyers on this product page. However, the pricing is better at Amazon. The Lordo-Loc Back Brace is fabulous for low back pain - if it is recommended by your doctor or physical therapist. One should not just willy nilly wear a back brace without a medical recommendation. For me it works great when I am doing lots of movement and activity. Especially with lifting, twisting, and bending over. The steel slats truly help me stay in better posture. The upper straps help to secure a firm fit. I strongly believe this product is worth the investment. It washes well in a linen bag, so the micro velcro doesn't snag other clothing. Then hang to dry. There are no parts that get damaged by washing in a front loader. I love the soft terry cloth inside the back of the brace. Aids in comfort and soaks up sweat. You can't go wrong with this lumbar brace!

Not cheap, but definitely the best available on Amazon. This is my 3rd back support purchase (returned the others). The Bauerfeind LordoLoc is the only one that is actually a medical-grade device. The materials and construction are top quality German design -- effective, adjustable and comfortable. The width is sufficient to cover the lumbar region of even a larger person (I'm 6'4"). The somewhat flexible rear metal strips provide adequate support -- while the additional inner fabric padding offers soothing comfort. Movement is excellent and the separate top straps can be easily adjusted so that your ribs are not pinched when seated. I might suggest to actually measure your waist rather than just order by your normal pant size (proper fit is crucial). From the broad range of sizes available, choosing a size just slightly larger can provide some fit options... if it's too small, comfort is not possible. Also, wearing the support over a T-shirt or similar garment adds comfort and reduces frequent washing. These devices do take some getting used to. At first, consider wearing the support for a just a portion of the day and try various adjustments. Regarding washing, as directed, be sure all the Velcro is fastened together first. Just wash separately in warm water with a mild detergent. Air drying is best to preserve the elastic materials (guard against high dryer heat). However, drying by air does take about 24 hours. Having tried several different back support devices, thankfully the Bauerfeind is a real winner in my book. After several surgeries, I can now enjoy normal activities with significantly less discomfort at the end of a busy day. Highly recommended.

My lower back has been hurting me for years now, since having kids. I feared going to sleep because I would wake up feeling super sore. An ortho tech recommended this brand to me. This brace has changed my life. I wear it at night and have been steadily improving. No more feeling horrible in the mornings. Of course, you have to add in some core and hip strengthening exercises to keep your body strong, but this was a game changer for me. I no longer feel so disabled from back pain.

I have 3 of these so I can launder & air dry. I have no disc space at waist, so painful when I maneuver doing any activity. I still have discomfort, but much less so I can garden, etc. The best is to develop core muscles, but until you do, this helps out. Back braces slip on your clothing when you are moving around and you keep on pulling it down. I wear this one next to my skin, thus needing several due to sweating. If you have SI joint pain, I also wear Serola SI belt. I wear it on the outside of my clothing and it does not slip. I have tried many brands.

Have had multiple back surgeries and still experience chronic pain. This is the best quality back brace I've tried over the years. Worth the extra cost. My only complaint is that the velcro wears out after about a year but I wear this every day and with all activity so it gets extensive use.

I ordered a size 2 because instructions for fit was found in Questions and answers which said size 2 since i’m 35 inches. I either got the wrong size because it’s mismarked or “right below the waist” isn’t were you measure because it’s a good 4-5 inches from even touching. I want to order another but don’t know were to measure for correct fit. I hate giving it bad score because it looks like a really nice brace. The manufacture should update ad with picture of were too measure. I’ve found that low back braces fit best when measured at belly button or inches below belly button instead of just below waist. I’ll order another but this one looks like it’s for a 26-28 inch waist so is a #4 right size? Manufacture- please explain sizing in ad

Even after measuring and double checking the sizing, the product was too small. Maybe if you get two sizes up from regular it'll fit but otherwise you are out of luck. There needs to be a better way for a person to figure out the right product to get or the company needs to start offering exchanges at the very least.

Short of surgery, this support is the way to keep your back in proper alignment while walking and hiking. Still comfortable enough to wear for several hours (although you’ll be hot).
