Stops hood buffering on jeep jks
Worked great on my 2007 jk. Just watch the you tube videos on how to do it. No more hood flopping. And don't cut the locator pins off. Just drill the holes.

Works for JKs
2017 Rubicon Recon JKU. I did not have to drill out any holes. I did need to bust the tabs. And I did release the springs because they were causing the latches to get in the way of closing the hood. Oh and I did not have to remove the grill. I used a 13 mm deep socket on a quarter inch drive. If this was made for a JK specifically I would give it four stars. But it wasn't. I took it out on the freeway and no hood chatter. So I am happy. The only problem I now have is the latches are very tight. I might need to do a little bit of grinding. But I would recommend this for JK Jeeps, especially if you have good chatter at high speeds.

Worth it
Easy to install (less than 15 minutes). Lines right up & looks good.

Don’t waste your time
Absolutely terrible item. I installed them, then pulled the latch as I would to normally open the hood and the screw broke in two on both sides. Complete waste of time when I could’ve bought from a complete that actually cares about making quality products.

Work on a JK
Fits is pretty good on my JK. Install was a breeze. Might take a bit of finesse for final fit, but better than stock.

Metal rusted in latch.
Functional this still work but all metal components have rusted and starting to fall apart. Bought these 5 years ago and no longer holding up.

Easy install on 2008 JK
Just finished installing these new JL latches on my 2008 JKU. They seem to be of good quality, and were nicely packaged. I was not willing to drill the Jeep so I removed the tabs with a chisel. In case the tabs were used to restrict movement of the latch that might damage the paint underneath, I cut a rubber backer out of some old bike inner tube. One other modification I made was to use the old nuts. The new nuts were nice nylock, but they didn't include any washers. The holes on the hood were thru two layers of metal and the holes were not the same size, so the old nuts with captive washers provided a better fit.Last, to keep the metal hoops from interfering with closing the hood, I detached the springs from the metal hoop and wrapped them around themselves so they wouldn't be in they way. I don't see why you need the springs and the latches are easy to use without.I had read that some people didn't like the new gap between the hood and the fender. My reveal may be just slightly larger at the front than farther back on the hood, but I don't think it's really noticeable. I tried removing the rubber bumpers from the upper part of the latches to see how much lower the hood could sit if I trimmed them down a bit. There was hardly any difference between with and without the bumpers, so I decided to just leave them as is.So far I am impressed and happy with them. I will see how the weather; see if they rust at all, and update my review if there are any problems. They are quite a bit chunkier than the old latches, but I don't think they look bad at all. I would recommend them (from RT-TCZ) to anyone considering them as a more secure replacement for worn out OEM rubber latches.

Work great for JK! Drill all holes to 7/16 to get hood lines tight and clean looking.
These work great on my JK. Super stoked with them. No more floppy hood driving on interstate. They aren't difficult to install but if you want the hood lines to be tight and clean like the factory, you need to drill all the mounting holes out to about 7/16". Most recommend drilling to 3/8", one dude suggested drilling to 1/2" but I used a step bit from harbor freight and drilled em out to 7/16" and that worked perfectly on my JK. I used some red scotch brite to clean the holes, you could use a small round file too, and then touch up paint I already had to paint the drilled holes just to prevent unnecessary rust there. Then when you mount these you want the two pieces as far apart as you can get them when you tighten the bolts, so the hood catch is up as high as you can get it, and the fender mounted piece is as low as you can mount it, that will pull the hood down snug and give you an even clean factory line on your hood/fender.They function well but I have considered removing the spring from the latch inside because the latches do tend to sit inside the hood when you close it and it takes both hands to hold them out of the way. That is not a knock on this product itself, however, I believe that is simply just a design flaw. Still wayyyyy better than the factory JK rubber junk.
