Good on Amazon
I received it a day earlier than expected. Good on Amazon. As for the product... Yes, it is a bit flimsy but that's to be expected. It's a bait trap. It's design to catch and hold fingerling size fish for the most part. Anything tougher or bigger than that can eventually work itself out of the trap. I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing. As is, it's a great combination of size, weight, and toughness.Mine sank well without any additional weight. It didn't sink evenly, and that's to be expected given the shape. The flat bottom going down it's going to want to tilt over way or another. Just hold on to the string (which you have to add) and ease it down.Mine didn't come with a zipper on the bottom. But the fish were easy to extract by going through the holes. The bait pouch didn't have any sort of fastening but I just folded over side and secured it with a wooden clothespin. I have had no issues with it coming loose. As for catching, it's not going to catch anything if there's no fish there so move it around. For bait fish, under the dock is almost always a sure thing and that's where mine is soaking right now. The first time, after about a 10 minute soak, we had 5 little fish. I used Cheetos as we have 2 kids and be apparently have an unlimited supply of it.

Wish it was abit more sturdy.
Product did perform well till after the sixth time using it. One of the arms collapsed inward after retrieving it in a still pool of water while catching creek chumbs. At first I thought there was a current, but after dropping a bait ball in the pool you can tell it look more like a slow scent release type of moving water.

Good customer service saves the review
10/12/2012 update:Seller quickly contacted me and offered to replace the trap. Received the replacement within a few days. Upgrading from 1 star to 3 stars for now due to the positive customer service. Will reevaluate after using the trap on our next fishing trip.Original Review:My kids wanted a trap to catch crabs and bait fish, so I bought this one based on the reviews. The day it arrived we went out to the fishing pier and threw in 2 chicken drums for bait. Attached the trap to a carabiner tied to about 12 feet of paracord to have enough rope to reach the bottom. After about 2 hrs, the line from the trap snapped off the carabiner and we lost the trap forever. Kids were so disappointed. Don't trust the line coming from the trap.

Don't know yet.
I haven't use it yet but there's couple thing I like to say about the product.1. Since it doesn't comes with line or rope, it fail to state what size it needs. I bought 1/4" line and it won't fit into that loop hole. Despite I can drill the loop hole, that plastic structure will fail.2. There's no weight or lead to sink the net.3. The top part of that "Black neck", the black is spandex and it's not double stitch. I fear it's only one time use. I gotta use something to supportI'm gonna use gopro hero 3 with RG6 Coax cable to transmit wifi signal to my phone. Hope it works...finger cross. If it work, I'll post it here on amazon.I'll update the review when I use it.

Lots of fun and folds up easy
I got this for my son who loves to trap! It is easy for him to use. My only complaint is that it is already ripped in a corner. So he zip tied it.

A few faults, but Sweet!
Really cool trap, works well, a little lite on the framework if a turtle gets in, and there is no exit to get your bait other than back out through the holes. You need a rock or similar to settle it down in the water, and the netting for the bait is flimsy. All that said, none of these really take away the excitement that these traps can generate. All the above were minor fixes except I was pretty lucky on the minor turtle damage, both to the frame, and netting. I'd buy one again, just baby it...

I attach this net with a 15 ft string and it works great. Pros
Before using, you have to make a slit in the mesh to open up the zipper area. I attach this net with a 15 ft string and it works great.Pros: I get about 50 crawfish per hour in this trap in California, using anchovies and chicken liver as bait. That means, most trips = bringing home at least 1/2 - 3/4 full 5 gal bucket.Cons: The material is made out of mesh, so if it lasts more than 2 years I would be a happy crawdad fisherman. There are small white zipties that hold the wholes next to each other together. After a while, replacing the zipties may be required. It also can't be thrown too far. The best way I've found to throw it is by holding the white clamp at the top and then tossing it gently making sure it sinks on the proper sides.

This is Really Flimsy
I purchased this minnow trap with hopes to supplement my "bait expenses".After a long wait time to receive this...My 1st impression was that it is really small; even when you spread out the trap.I've used 4 times already and had to repair & modify this trap 4 times. The "umbrella spokes has a tendency to "bend" when spreading or collapsing the net. The spoke connections at the bottom of the net are suspect as the net retainer pops off allowing the spokes to cut through the bottom of the net. I have run out of parts to fix this defect. The zippered hand slot is way too small and will not last. I use the openings that the bait fish use enter to bait and clean the trap.Cleaning the trap is a moon launch! The zipper is just about "done" after using it just 2 times. I know that it will not last too long if you use it too much. The bait bag is a joke. It is very difficult to fill the bait bag inside the trap. The net is super light and needs to be weighted down. The string is "twine" and it is short. You can not re-use that twine so I replaced it with real strings. No float comes with this trap. I tied a float to the trap along with a set up that allows me to adjust the string length for different depths.I'm trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. This was just a bad buy for me.
