I've had this car mount for a while now and while it is ok I wouldn't recommend to a friend. There are some positives, it works well as a wireless charger topping up my battery when I'm in the car. It also has a convenient space in the bottom that lets you have a wire connected to your phone while in the cradle if you choose. The negatives all relate to the moving parts of the mount. The clamp to hold onto an air vent grill is not great, even when new it would regularly slide gradually off the grill and need to be reattached, with age how this has become a near-daily chore to be completed. The other issue is the mechanical clamps that hold the phone are not reliable. From the very beginning, they would sometimes not close unless I removed the power cable and reattached and now one side no longer moves at all, this takes away the possibility of using a wire to charge the phone while in the cradle as the clamp will now shift it off centre and away from the gap. My previous non-charging mount is about 6 years old and still works perfectly with its spring loaded clamp, this at less than a year old has had both clamps fail multiple time on me.

10/12/18Given up and returned.06/12/18 *Update*The replacement has arrived, and still does not work with Samsung Galaxy Note 9 fitted with genuine Samsung wireless charging compatible case (3.5 mm thick) powered by a 3 Amp 70 Watt mains power supply, other wireless chargers have no issue with the case, not even a little 5W wireless charging pad plugged into a laptop USB!04/12/18 *Update*The manufacture is sending a replacement, I hope this one works.03/12/18Does not work with Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in a 3.5 mm thick genuine Samsung wireless charging compatible case, when powered by a QC 3Amp supply.

I love the fact thelat you can wirelessly charge the phone in the car. I also love the electric moving arms by touching the bottom of the holder to operate. Sometimes you can accidently press it and your phone may fall out. It just take a little getting used to. Overall I would recommend this in car holder just be sure to get a high powered in car charge adaptor. I would not buy this one unless your phone can receive wireless charging. Only con I can see is sometimes your phone falls out if you accidently press the part of the holder that releases the vice arms.

Very happy with this holder. It attaches firmly to the vents, after just a bit of experimentation to decide the best place to fix it. Once you've decided, you tighten up the ball joint and never need to adjust that again - just open/close the clamp if you want to take the holder off the dashboard. As my vents slope away from the cabin at the top, I put the lever (that tightens it onto the vent slats) at the top, so it's easy to put on & take off, and it's still capable of holding the phone at a vertical angle to give a good viewing angle. The phone stays steady in place while driving with no movement or rattles. I use the phone held in 'portrait mode' (ie upright) but it would also allow it to be landscape/horizontal. I use it with a Quick Charge 5.4A USB adaptor (CH Geek) to enable fast charging, and the wireless charging is really convenient, as is the automated opening/closing of the arms to hold the phone. It also arrived quickly.

This does exactly what you need. But one minor improvement would make it much better. The unit loses power when the (cigarette lighter) charging point's power goes off. I am forever turning the ignition off, then trying to extract my phone from the holder, and it won't release it. So, ignition back on, get phone, ignition off again! If they'd designed a small battery into it, to hold enough power to allow the phone to be released, it would be perfect.

Easy to install and fit on the car vents, really like the wireless charging and electronic grab on the phone , just need to get in the habit of turning the car on first then popping the phone in and releasing the phone while the car is switched on. I’ve had one bout where the electronic grab wouldn’t open so keeping an eye on that .. we’re 1 week in to use . So good I recommended to the other half .

Nice and easy to setup and use. Wireless charging means it’s easier to just drop your phone in and drive off. Good service as well, fast delivery and they sent me an email asking if everything was okay. Good job!

Set up was simple and it works great.. love the smooth action of the clamp which hugs the phone brilliantly..It would be great if the phone released when you turned the ignition off and remove the key.. but pressing the little button at the back is not a great hardship..so good i ordered one for my Partner and she loves it tooexcellent product
