Not great, but it does what I need it to do
Installation on Windows XP laptop was very troublesome, with constant requests to restart the PC. After finding some info on Mobile Action website, was able to install successfully. I wanted to do two things: to be able to get pictures out of my Razr and be able to upload ringtunes. This software and data cable was able to do this reliably once everything was installed. Oddly enough, the File Manager function will not allow you to delete any files from the phone, even though the help menu shows how to do it. We have two Razr's and it would be nice if it could recognize which one was which. Not the best written software but it does what I need it to do and the price was reasonable. FYI- The Motorola software cost more and is totally useless, so do not consider that as an alternative.

I can't even get it to work.
I ordered this in hopes of being able to synch up my Motorola V220 with my computer for picture and ringtone sharing. Unfortunately, I can't even get the program to work. It says it's connected, but as soon as I try to actually do anything, it loses the connection and jut sits there trying to reestablish contact until I exit the program completely. I've tried to contact Mobile Action through their website twice, and via direct e-mail once. Each time I got a form response and the suggestion that if I had any further questions, I should contact them via the website. Which of course is what I had just finished doing. There is NO customer assistance phone number on the packaging or even the website, and the actual software help files are not even available *on* the software. You need to go to the website and download them seperately. Also the FAQs located on the website are poorly written and don't tell you anything that isn't blindingly obvious. All in all, this product was really disappointing, and the lack of available assistance from Mobile Action has ensured that I will never buy another product manufactured by them again. Save your money, I wish I had.

Disappointing software, non-standard USB data cable
Software is very limited/limiting and doesn't work very well. At all. I only really wanted this in order to type in phone contacts from my last phone rather than do it all on the phone itself, but, frankly, it's not even really up to that task, much less anything more demanding - like synchronising. The USB cable has a big fat dongle on it and is a device in it's own right - so cannot be used with other drivers/software that "talks" to a V3 (or other Motorola phones with the same data interface) directly. Extremely disappointed with this purchase. My advice would be to buy a standard USB->5 pin mini-USB cable anywhere for $5-$10 and use freely-available drivers and software for wallpaper/ringtones/volume gain/skins/pictures uploading/downloading instead. It only gets one star because there's not a selection for "zero". I'd like my money back because it's not fit for the purpose for which it was intended, but fat chance of that.

Great for my razr
I wanted something to get my pictures from my phone to my computer, and to be able to make my own ringtones from my mp3's or my own music CD's. This works great for me. I haven't tried to do anything with contacts or anything else, but for my pictures and music, perfect! Just make sure the mp3's you want to put on your phone are at 124 bit and not higher or your phone might not be able to play it back.

Make your own ringtones for free!
This cable is awesome! It charges your phone while you transfer files. The only problem was the software. You have to go to their website and get the latest version and make sure it's for the correct model phone. We had a little trouble setting it up at first, but we didn't have the correct drivers installed for our model RAZR. My boyfriend and I are each on our 2nd RAZR phone and we've been making ringtones and transferring photos for 3 years. Now US Cellular charges $13 a month per phone to have access to download ringtones. That on top of the cost of each ringtone? You do the math. I paid $17 for something both of us have used for 3 years and have had a blast with.

Depending on what you are looking for, this may work.
When I bought my Razr V3, I wanted to not only replace my phone but also my PDA for my calendar. The software installed ok on my desktop PC but would not with my laptop while docked (Dell D600). While using the software, I had some issues I needed to work around. The software comes with a cable that is a USB device in itself. After I would log off then back on, if the cable remained connected, the phone would not connect when plugged in. I had to unplug the cable then re-attach then it worked ok. This package will not sync your contacts so that is a draw back. The calendar sync works well but the Razr itself is limited as to information it contains such as location. The other parts of the software are pretty cool. You can download Midi files on your PC and upload them to your phone and you can also send pictures. I am using version 8.0. There is a version 9.0 but it will not synce with Outlook. This package is better than the Motorola Mobile Tools v3.0 which would not sync to a MS Exchange calendar. That made that package useless for me at work.

Not for the V220 phonebook
If you take lots of pictures and want to download them, this software works fine. But there is no phonebook manager for the Motorola V220.

not what I needed, and item descp. not clear
this product has software issues that may prevent it from loading properly and the company website offers no help other than to tell you to keep trying to force it to run and hopefully it will progress a little further each time. Also this item states on the package that it is for GSM phones...this info is not listed in the prduct description and something you need to know if like me you have an Alltel phone because Alltel is NOT GSM but CDMA.Sent email to the company customer support and got NO response so I guess once they have sold you this junk they don't care about standing behind their product, also they have no toll free # and since they are in Asia I did not want to pay for a phone cal lthat would cost more than the product
