Once the dividers are extended, are there any parts that might snag delicate clothing items, (silk, stockings, fine sweater knits)?

Yes, on one side. One side is smooth, the other side (not shown in picture) has notches where dividers adjust. Notches are plastic, but quite sharp. If you arranged delicate items in between two smooth sides (or a smooth side and inside of drawers) you would probably be okay, as long as items along notched edge were more durable.

After contemplating your question, I believe that the dividers would be fine in your frig. You should probably let them sit in frig and "get to temperature" before adjusting them to fit. They are made of durable plastic with the ends covered with rubber. Most people have food wrapped or in a container inside their frig.
