Decent kit
The Academy MIG-29 is decent. The Great Wall Fulcrum is better, but I suppose you get what you pay for. For comparison, the Academy kit cost me $30, while the Great Wall Fulcrum sells for $75. The Academy kit had conspicuous seams, but my biggest complaint was the crappy decal sheet. It has just four East German roundels, and you need six. Also, they didn't provide the red bort numbers, and good luck finding an aftermarket replacement. In short, if you're buying a model airplane for your grandson, he'll probably love this. But if you're going to build it yourself, you're going to want the Great Wall kit.

Not a Russian MiG-29
Decent model but I would have expected the decal set to include decals for a Russian Mig 29 not a German Air Force or Iraqi Air Force version. Luckily, I had some leftover Russian MiG decals from another model kit that enabled me to display is as a Russian jet that I intended to display.

best 1/48 Mig-29A available so far
While there are some improvements that can be made to this model OOB it is a great build. The original kit is from 1990's or so and shows some age. There are plenty of weapons included to make several options and the cockpit is very plain. Easy build and recommended for all levels of modelers at a reasonable price.

Looks good - This is a good find for a 1:48 MiG-29 kit.
Looks like a good kit. Includes decals for the East German, and Iraqi versions of the MiG-29A. I am going to finish mine with Czech decals which I ordered separately on Amazon. Only thing that is disappointing is there is no historical writeup on the box or on tge instructions on the MiG-29A. Otherwise it looks like a good kit.

Cool Plane, Terrible Part Fit
Great detail but some parts fit terribly. If you want to assemble it with the landing gear up, good luck. You’re in for a ton of shaving, trimming, filing, filling, and sanding. The nose section doesn’t line up with the fuselage section. Big gaps at the wing-to-fuselage joints. Just lots of gaps and bad fit in general.
